We are looking for an experienced Technology Leader who is passionate about collaborating with business in solving challenging business problems. You will be a key driver in the effort to design, build, & deliver capabilities that will help realize the strategic vision of the Commerical B2B software products & services.
The right candidate is a high impact leader with the ability to engage in high bandwidth conversations with business & technology partners & be able to think broadly about Visa's business & drive solutions that will enhance the safety & integrity of Visa's payment ecosystem.You possess a strong technology background with demonstrated experience in leading technology teams in the delivery of complex technology solutions. You have extensive experience in leading Agile development teams in building secure, scalable & reliable Java applications as well as supporting the customer questions & issues as they arise.
The Director will work with clients & internal experts to identify & prioritize products to develop, manage the product, execute the launch & drive product commercialization to target levels of adoption & utilization. This is a matrixed, cross functional role so organizational savvy & interpersonal skills are critical, as we interface with other specialized product groups, financial institution sales, merchant sales, client consulting, operations, technology, risk, analytics, marketing, & corporate communications, to coordinate the build, launch, & support of new & existing products.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of Software Engineering, experience with Big Data & analytics, exceptional communication & negotiation skills, & extensive experience guiding software & data engineers in the implementation of production quality solutions. Ultimately, they will be able to do whatever is required to make our engineering teams a success.
10+ years of Technology experience including
2+ years of engineering leadership experience in a full stack & big data environment,
3+ years of software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical management,
5+ years coding in one of the following languages: Java, C, C++, Go, Scala, Python, or Rust
Experience developing full stack, web, & API platforms at scale
Experience with Big data technologies including:
Hadoop, Hive, Apache Spark, Apache Flink,
Experience with both NoSQL & SQL datastores including Oracle, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB
Experience with In-memory databases including Redis, Aerospike, RocksDB
Experience with Information Security
Experience with DevOps.
Be a hands-on, technical engineering manager. The expectation is that you will be
leading by doing.
Communicate architectural issues & concepts to multiple organization levels & executive management
Work closely with product owners on requirements & roadmaps.
Help recruit world-class full-stack developers in Austin
Work with Engineering leaders & others to ensure that your team delivers the maximum possible impact.
Be responsible for the day-to-day work of your team members.
Create an environment in which engineers can grow & do their best work.
Work on the most interesting & challenging problems in the payments space.
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit & stand at a desk, communicate in person & by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones & computers, reach with hands & arms, & bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
