General Summary
Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the Global Data & Privacy Officer will work closely with the Legal, Compliance, Product, & Information Security functions to (1) monitor compliance & data practices to ensure the business & its products comply with applicable privacy regulations; (2) interact & advise the product team on privacy & data use to enable DV to continue to be the standard for the most secure, privacy-compliant, & independently evaluated media authentication company globally; & (3) be a senior external representative of DoubleVerify to represent its business interests with respect to privacy & data use with industry associations, partners & customers in the digital advertising eco-system, government organizations, & other privacy-influencing entities that impact the advertising industry. The Global Data & Privacy Officer will also be responsible for staff training, data protection impact assessments, & internal audits, & serve as the primary contact for supervisory authorities & individuals whose data is processed by the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-Review customer, partner, & vendor contracts with respect to data privacy requirements in partnership with the firms Legal & Information Security functions & ensure filing requirements with local regulators are achieved.
-Implement measures & a privacy governance framework to manage data use in compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, & COPPA), including developing templates for data collection, assisting with data mapping, vendor management reviews, & complete & advise on privacy impact assessments.
-Collaborate with the Product team to review data assets to help develop new products & uses.
-Partner with DoubleVerifys governance & accreditations team to expand global accreditations & certifications footprint to ensure 3rd-party accreditations & certifications meet the business needs of the company, expand to include new services, & serve growing global customer base.
-Represent DoubleVerifys business interests externally with industry associations, partners & customers in the digital advertising eco-system, government organizations, & other privacy-influencing entities that impact the advertising industry.
-Participate in relevant groups to ensure DoubleVerifys products set the standard for privacy-compliant measurement & DoubleVerify has influence in industry & regulatory changes that impact the business.
-Serve as the primary point of contact & liaison for data protection authorities on all data protection related matters.
-Serve as the primary point of contact for queries in the business related to privacy & data use
-Develop privacy training to various business functions & collaborate with the Information Security function to raise employee awareness of data privacy & security issues.
-Develop strategies & initiatives to ensure engagement with key internal & external stakeholders.
-Work with the Information Security function to maintain records of all data assets & exports, & continue to develop data security incident management plan to ensure timely remediation of incidents, including impact assessments, security breach response, complaints, claims or notifications, & responding to subject access requests (SARs).
-Ensure that the IT systems & procedures comply with all relevant data privacy & protection law, regulation & policy (including in relation to the retention & destruction of data).

Position Specifications
-3+ years experience in Privacy required.
-Education Law degree from an accredited law school required.
-Hold at least one Data Protection and/or Privacy certification such as, CIPP, CIPT, ISEB, etc., (preferred).
-Experience with U.S. & EU data privacy laws.
-Multiple years experience within a compliance, legal, audit and/or risk function, with recent experience in privacy compliance.
-Experience in developing policy & compliance training.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
-Strong knowledge of EU & U.S data privacy & data protection regulations, & a good understanding of other major privacy frameworks & evolving legislation worldwide.
-Strong knowledge of information technology & data management systems required; experience in the digital advertising space a plus.
-Well-developed & professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm.
-Experience of working in a global organization.
-Ability to work unsupervised, exercise leadership, & influence change.Excellent writing & presentation skills.
-Ability to use independent judgment & discretion when making majority of decisions.
-Ability to handle confidential & sensitive information with the appropriate discretion.
-Able to represent DoubleVerify externally with regulatory bodies, industry organizations & customers/partners.
