Were seeking a Manager, Virtual Event Operations to join our Virtual Meetings Team in New York. The Manager, Virtual Event Operations will report directly to the Senior Manager, Virtual Event Operations. 

What Youll Do:

  • Oversight & management of broadcast control room operations to support Virtual & Hybrid events & meetings
    • Maintain & distribute detailed, weekly team schedules
    • Oversight of scheduling & capacity issues within control rooms
  • Supervise & manage individual employees:
    • Day-to-day Training, scheduling, coaching, & performance management 
    • Communicate job expectations
    • Monitor & review contributions & areas for growth through one-on-ones & performance reviews
    • Review/approve PTO & expenses (in accordance with company policy)
  • Ensure teams are operating efficiently & effectively, delivering programs that meet Convene's quality standards:
    • Requires observing/supervising on-site during any events
    • Lead bi-weekly check-ins with each control room to monitor event statuses & flags
    • Lead team trainings & building all-hands meetings as needed
    • Implementing, maintaining, & enforcing organizational policies & SOPs
  • Escalation:
    • Resolve and/or escalate issues to Senior Manager Virtual AV Operations or AV Engineering (technical & logistical)
    • Client recovery
    • Operational guidance
    • Delegating/assigning support when needed
    • Raise relevant flags to leadership team

What We Look For: 

  • 7+ years professional broadcast and/or livestreaming experience.
  • 1+ years people management
  • Experience with virtual & hybrid event production
  • Experience working in a control-room setting
  • Extensive knowledge of video switching software such as vMix, OBS, Tricaster, Wirecast.
  • Deep understanding of audio & video signal flow
  • Strong leadership & management skills, ability to motivate the team to achieve company goals.
  • Strong communication skills; both written & verbal, as well as strong presentation skills
  • Strong project management & organizational skills; ability to multitask
  • Strong personal computing skills including powerpoint, outlook & G suite
