Virta is the first company with a clinically-proven treatment to safely & sustainably reverse type 2 diabetes & other chronic metabolic diseases without the use of medications or surgery. Our innovations in nutritional biochemistry, data science & digital tools combined with our clinical expertise are shifting the diabetes treatment paradigm from management to reversal. Our mission - to reverse type 2 diabetes in 100 million people by 2025.

As a Director of Sales, you will be responsible for selling Virta to health plans & third party administrators. Diabetes is one of the highest cost drivers for plans, & your goal will be to secure favorable partnerships with these plans & TPAs for both their fully-insured & ASO members. You will help build our commercialization efforts & capitalize on the national attention Virta is receiving for our industry-changing diabetes reversal work.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up established prospect funnel & move prospective health plan clients through to contracting phase
  • Leverage your own outreach & demand generation work from marketing team to create new opportunities
  • Develop partnerships with plan leaders & sales teams to further promote Virta
  • Work closely with Vitra team members to provide client/prospect feedback

90 Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:

  • Build internal relationships with Virta team members
  • Learn the Virta offering & value proposition to the market, & refine your presentation to prospective clients
  • Create & begin executing on your target plan for outreach to health plans

Must-Haves

  • Experience selling a healthcare solution to health plans that has clinical & financial impact to the plan
  • Experience with the consultative & strategic sale with multiple departments & stakeholders
  • Quantifiable history of hitting sales targets
  • Ability to present clearly to key decision makers
  • Ability to proactively manage pipeline & progress deals through the pipeline
  • A passion for selling a solution that has clinical, financial, & personal impact on lives
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-growing startup environment
  • Bonus points for:
    • Existing relationships with key decision makers at health plans/TPAs
    • Knowledge of Type 2 diabetes & of potential competitors
