Visa Business Solutions - B2B Services group is part of Data & Product Development team in Visa's Technology organization & is responsible for designing, developing & implementing Value Added Information Products & Services for Visa's Commercial line of business globally. We develop, support & maintain various Commercial platforms including Commercial data processing, B2B payments, & data warehousing & BI platforms. This position will be based in Austin, Texas. The successful candidate will be a Principal level Software Engineer
Primary responsibilities will include:
Architecting, maintaining, & streamlining of continuous Delivery solutions for end to end CICD pipeline setup of one click build deployments
Automate testing & deploying releases to multiple environments.
Work directly with agile Application Development teams to provide daily support aligned with a model of Continuous Delivery
Support third party software deployments & integration points within Visa environments
Promote a Dev Ops culture through building relationships with Development & Operations & driving enhancements to the end-to-end release process
Ensure continuous availability of applications & related integrations in all pre-production environments
Ensure continuous availability of various tools supporting SCM & Release Management including Source Control, Continuous Integration, & Change Management
Maintain source control branches & perform integrations with merge conflicts
Make recommendations for SCM branching & merging policies & best practices in order to promote uniformity across development teams
Facilitate & champion the quick resolution of problems found during the daily build & deployment efforts
Create & maintain documentation of the build/release process.
Investigate tools & processes & integrate them so that they can improve the reliability, stability & efficiency with which we release our services
Work closely with the development team to integrate new deployment processes & strategies to meet our feature requirements
Design & build/extend Test Automation framework & write test cases utilizing latest technologies & a variety of languages
Automate test case execution & report test results to development & product teams
Collaborate on developing test automation utilities to make project testing more effective & efficient
Participate in design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems
Identify data needs & scenarios for Integration testing & end to end testing including areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, logging capabilities or usability
Have a good understanding of requirements & testing coverage
Communicate effectively & responsibly in an Agile environment
Become an expert at finding bugs, breaking things, helping development diagnose & fix the bug, improve the automated test, & do it over & over again.
Comfortable working in a loosely structured, fast-paced organization
Create documentation & procedures for installation & maintenance
Build working relationships with global & virtual teams on software development
Identify opportunities for future enhancements & refinements to standards, best practices & development methodologies
4 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD degree
Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant field, Master's Degree preferred
Experience with source control, build & deployment tools such as Jenkins, Subversion, Maven, Hudson, Git, Chef
Sound Knowledge on Source Control Tools such as GIT & SCM concepts (branching, merging, integration, versioning, etc.)
Continuous Integration (CI) tools such as Jenkins, TFS, Bamboo & TeamCity. Should have hands on & good understanding on DevOps tools & automation framework to build CICD
Scripting experience with batch / shell scripting in Powershell & Linux.
Must be proficient with scripting languages such as Python, Unix Shell, Perl, Groovy & with build tools such as GIT, Ant, Maven & Gradle
Knowledge & experience with Linux & Windows Operating Systems
Should have working experience with monitoring tools like OPNET, and/or SPLUNK, or any other
Experience working in Agile environments is preferred
Experience with build & release of online services & a passion for delivering a quality experience to customers
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where iterative changes may need to go out in rapid succession.
Knowledge of test automation tools & frameworks such as Cucumber, Ruby, Selenium, Robot is preferred
Knowledge of web services standards & related technologies (XML, SOAP, JSON, REST) is preferred
Knowledge of SOAP UI Automation using Groovy scripts & SOAP UI Pro is preferred
Knowledge of database query tools & ability to write & run SQL queries for data validation is preferred
