ABOUT THE ROLE
In a nutshell. Be the go-to person for all things technical regarding our Readapt platform - a non-profit solution that adapts text for people with reading challenges (like dyslexia). You will take the lead in coding efforts to build upon & expand our offering.
How you will make an impact. Digital accessibility! In more detail: Reading is such a fundamental pillar of education & self-development. Readapt's goal is to help all dyslexic people & others with visual challenges to be able to improve their reading of digital content. This helps them reach their full potential, especially children in school. The earlier dyslexic children have access to tools like Readapt, the better their chances are at academic success. You helping us take the technical lead & coding to expand our offering means that our tool will get better & better, & be available on more & more platforms.
Who you'll be reporting to. The Foundation Director, a dyslexic person herself. You'll be working on a daily basis with our very cool Senior Product Manager who is full time on this subject. You'll also have access to other brilliant, technical minds within the organization to bounce ideas off.
Loves. Innovating & quality. You like to come up with creative, technical ways to bring innovative ideas to life. You also love doing things quickly but in the right way.
Hates. Roadblocks. Whilst we follow processes, we are agile & in a startup environment. If you have an idea to solve a problem, let's hear it!
Masters. Our technical needs. You are a guru at coding in languages & tools such as TypeScript & Vue. js. You're comfortable taking the lead & owning a platform. If needed you can consult other technical folks in the wider Contentsquare for their thoughts on major technical decisions
Speaks. Technical but also can adapt to a functional audience. The team you'll be in aren't too technical, & we're dealing with users who simply need help to be able to improve their reading. But don't worry - you don't need to be an expert in dyslexia - we have experts in the team for that.
Background. At least 5+ years experience as a lead developer. You can write excellent quality code in your sleep. You've had an excellent track record in technical leadership & innovation on projects through all phases of the development lifecycle. You can lead developers in delivering the right solution on time & on budget, working in an Agile SCRUM environment. This role can either be a French speaking or English speaking role. Bonus points if you speak both. LOCATION The Foundation team is split between Paris & Lyon. It would be fun to have you based at either of these offices but we are open for this to be a remote role provided there is significant overlap with Paris work hours.
