Hi, we're Oscar. Were hiring a Head of Corporate Actuarial to join our Actuarial team in our New York office.

We are looking for a senior leader who will be responsible for managing Corporate Actuarial & Valuation functions for all our insurance companies. As the Head of Corporate Actuarial, you understand Oscars business goals, the health insurance industry, the nationwide regulatory landscape, & the importance & best-practices of valuation & insurance risk.

You will report into the VP of Actuarial.


  • Lead the development of monthly valuations for Oscars total book of business.

    • Execute valuations timely & ensure optimal quality & consistency of information reported.

    • Provide an effective level of visibility into financial results to support analysis, reporting, & business outcomes.

    • Communicate & review with business, executives, & key internal & external stakeholders.

  • Own & enhance company-wide valuation methodologies & processes.

    • Continuously improve valuation models to incorporate the latest data & actuarial & statistical approaches.

    • Ensure processes & underlying infrastructure are scalable to support future growth needs.

  • Responsible for all internal & external facing actuarial reporting & control requirements.

    • Lead the development & filing of Statement of Actuarial Opinions & associated Memoranda

    • Ensure development of robust controls to support financial & regulatory audits & Model Audit Rule

  • Lead the robust capacity building of insurance risk management.

    • Work closely with Enterprise Risk Management & key internal stakeholders to build & enhance insurance (underwriting & reserving) risk assessment, monitor changes to the risk profile, risk analytics, & understand key drivers

    • Develop reinsurance analytics & modeling capabilities to foster effective insurance risk & capital decisions


  • You're an Associate or Fellow or Associate in the Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuary Society

  • You have 10+ years of relevant actuarial experience, & a strong leadership & valuation background within the insurance industries.

  • You have a comprehensive knowledge of actuarial principles, the Affordable Care Act, business drivers or financial & regulatory reporting

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity to drive to outcomes, work with large datasets & distill analyses into actionable business insights with seasoned judgment & experience

  • Collaborative attitude to work in highly cross-functional organizations

  • Executive presence & ability to communicate with, influence, & manage stakeholders, including C-level executives
