About the Position: Director of Business Development
Peek is seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to join our management team. This individual will guide our external partnerships strategy & manage the end-to-end relationship lifecycle for all prospective & current partnerships (e.g., Yelp, Google, Groupon). The ideal candidate will have prior business development or sales experience in the travel industry, have previously built out or managed an API partnership/distribution strategy for a rapidly growing technology company, be very comfortable working cross-functionally to support external partnerships & integrations, & love hitting the road to pitch prospects & close deals. This position will report to the VP of Business Operations & BD with extensive cross-functional interaction.

Key Responsibilities Activities Marketplace (

  • Guide Peeks short & long-term growth & monetization strategy from a partnerships perspective
  • Work directly with VP of Business Operations & BD (Peek founding team, ex-Bain & Company) & CEO to identify & test various partnership/distribution models, creating compelling presentations for each to build enthusiasm about working with Peek
  • Define, develop & execute new business opportunities that will improve the Peek consumer experience & generate new revenues for the business
  • Cultivate & manage multiple Director/VP-level relationships in the travel, technology & lifestyle verticals, managing prospects through the deal pipeline, & negotiating larger revenue opportunities with existing partners
  • Oversee all aspects of deal execution, including partner prioritization, assessing strategic & product fit, structuring commercials, redlining contracts & negotiating terms
  • Drive consistent business results with clear & visible KPIs, building on the momentum of existing deals & buzz generated by our Marketing & PR teams
  • Work with cross-functional teams in engineering, product, marketing, operations, legal & finance in order to ensure alignment on partnerships & business requirements
  • Engage in ongoing management of high priority established relationships, & maintain accountability for the health of the partnerships
  • Demonstrate strong leadership through robust execution of projects & initiatives

Peek Professional SaaS platform (

  • Identify new partnership/integration opportunities, negotiate terms & launch value added services for Peek Pro operators to help them save time/money, grow revenue & provide a better customer experience
  • Collaborate with Peek Sales team on large-scale corporate partnerships & franchise models to increase Peek Pro adoption across the US & International markets
  • Work with Marketing team to manage Peek presence at high-value conferences, industry associations, trade shows etc. to continue to establish Peek as a "thought leader" within the broader travel industry

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent at a top tier university
  • 5+ years of business development or similar client-facing experience at a travel-focused online marketplace, e-commerce business or hospitality company
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset: enjoys the challenge of a fast-paced, complex startup environment
  • Strong negotiating skills; experience crafting deals & developing business relationships that improve company performance
  • Excellent communications, pitching & negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with ROI analysis & how to prioritize one opportunity vs. another
  • Very organized with impeccable attention to detail & relentless follow-through
  • Proactive & able to work autonomously when necessary
  • Process-oriented, enjoys coordinating work between multiple parties
  • Big picture thinking: Ability to engage in day-to-day office work. No task is too small
  • Strong mastery of PowerPoint; moderate proficiency in Excel
  • Willing to travel
  • A passion for travel!

Note: Candidate ideally based in San Francisco, New York, Salt Lake City or Los Angeles but other locations will be considered.
