The Job

As Contributor Manager for 500px, you will interact with our Community daily regarding Licensing, being both an advocate & evangelist inside & outside the Company. You will grow our Licensing photographer base & will work to improve workflows for this user group in cooperation with Marketing & Product. Your product & technical knowledge is strong as well as your passion for photography, & you have experience managing online forums, building workflows, & creating engaging digital content. A member of the Content Team, reporting into the Director of Content, you will help on-board world class talent to our Community while building & maintaining key workflows for our Licensing photographers.

What you'll be doing:

  • Refine an end-to-end content sourcing solution that engages our Community & existing Licensing photographers
  • Develop & implement strategies & business plans to grow, retain & reactivate the Licensing photographers
  • Facilitate qualitative research (interviews, surveys, etc.) with Licensing photographers
  • Manage the health of a growing online community of Licensing photographers through the creation of training materials, tutorials, blog posts, & surveys & use proactive strategies to improve engagement and ensure high quality submissions within set deadlines
  • Improve photographer knowledge of the Licensing workflow & Licensing ecosystem
  • Generate product requirements for Licensing tools & improvements to workflows
  • Operationalize the submission process for Licensing photographers, working with Product to further develop submission tools
  • Collaborate with Art Director to build trends, insights, creative research needs for Licensing photographers

What the ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum 3-5 years working in technology or digital media environments
  • Bachelor's degree required in Business, Digital Media and/or previous experience in a similar role
  • Amazing knowledge of current technology & digital media trends
  • Experience with product development, helping to take an idea from concept to implementation
  • Experience developing educational tools like webinars, tutorials & research reports
  • Excellent communication skills, knowledge of multiple languages an asset
  • Experience or familiarity with DAM solutions, image licensing, & metadata an asset
  • Photography experience, preferably direct experience as a photographer
