You will provide legal advice to, & be the main legal point of contact for, the Operation teams (banking operations, AML, etc.)
1- to ensure that customers' transactions in France but also Italy, Germany, & Spain, are completed accurately, appropriately, & in compliance with laws & regulations and,
2 - to ensure that practices & procedures in place allow Qonto to fight fraud actively.
You will be the expert in banking law, insolvency proceedings, seizure to help the operation teams define the practices & procedures that Qonto uses to provide its services to the clients, to ensure a smooth relationship with third parties (authorities, notaries, insolvency proceedings bodies, etc.), & to fight fraud actively & efficiently.
As a Banking Ops Legal Expert at Qonto, you will
• Be the main point of contact for the Qonto operation teams at the international level
• Advise the operation teams on banking law matters (as well as corporate law, insolvency proceedings, seizure law)
• Advise the operation in the definition of practices & procedures that Qonto implement to ensure that customers' transactions are completed in compliance with laws in every country where Qonto operates
• Work hand in hand with the litigation legal team on customers' & third parties disputes to define the defense strategy & fight fraud actively

About You
• Experience: You have between 4 & 8 years of experience as a legal counsel in a banking institution, with a focus on working on collective procedures, & have expertise in law firms.
• Academic Background: Qualified to practice law in France. Preferably with a Master's degree in banking law.
• Business-oriented: You are able to work autonomously with the operational teams & capable of taking decisions regarding each situation you might encounter.
• Communication: You are at ease to coordinate legal work with local counsels.
• Mastery: You position yourself on a continuous improvement mindset & are able to anticipate training needs that the legal & Operations might need in order to facilitate the business.
• Languages: You are fluent in English, & mastery of German, Italian, or Spanish is a plus
