Warby Parker is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to assist the Accounting team in managing their revenue & gross margin reporting. The Accounting Manager will have responsibility over revenue, inventory & the associated cost of goods sold, owning close tasks, supporting financial audits, & managing a team of Senior & Staff Accountants. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated & ambitious individual with an eye for detail, experience working in a fast paced environment, & previous management experience. Sound a lot like you?  What youll do:

  • Lead all aspects of our revenue recognition process, including deferred revenue, in-transit revenue, gift card breakage & customer AR.
  • Responsible for reserves calculation & analysis for sales discounts & sales returns.
  • Manage & review product margin activities during the month-end close. This includes calculating inventory reserves & maintaining a pulse on COGS & gross margin operations end to end.
  • Lead all aspects of the inventory accounting process & partner with Supply Chain & Inventory Control teams on tech & process improvements as well as new control development around the inventory lifecycle.
  • Overseeing the preparation of the monthly roll forwards, balance sheet reconciliations & reviewing all gross margin related journal entries.
  • Strategically implement control procedures & process efficiencies to streamline gross margin data & financial accuracy.
  • Assist with quarterly & annual financial audits.
  • Manage physical inventory counts in partnership with the Inventory Control team.
  • Lead, motivate & manage a team of senior & staff accountants.

 Who you are:

  • Backed by 5+ years of relevant accounting experience 
  • Experience managing team members
  • The proud owner of a Bachelor of Science in accounting or finance
  • A total Excel expert (keyboard shortcuts are your love language)
  • Super serious about your work (without taking yourself too seriously)
  • A highly collaborative & communicative team player & self-starter willing to roll up your sleeves & get the job done
  • Positive, kind, & excited by a challenge
  • Not on the Office of Inspector Generals List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
