About You:

As a pivotal part of the Convene sales organization, the Senior Sales Engineer (SE) provides technical expertise & knowledge during the sales process to create the right solution for our customers while helping the sales team close business. As a trusted advisor, you will be an invaluable resource in understanding the dynamics within a buyers decision process & will often provide additional insights into Convenes Virtual & Hybrid Platform. You will work on the front lines with the Sales & Product teams to position Convene products & services, & to deliver a comprehensive solution that can address a clients specific business goals & objectives. You will provide analysis & insight in the early stages of the sales cycle, helping to discover key client business drivers & assess the current client landscape & technology ecosystem. Additionally, you will present customized product demonstrations, architect solution packages based on client-required capabilities/success criteria, & participate in preparation of proposals & Statements of Work/Requests for Information that outline recommended solutions. As the SE, you will also provide company & customer community thought leadership in regard to breakthrough ideas & approaches to Virtual & Hybrid meeting & event challenges.

What Youll Do: 

  • Help qualify early-stage opportunities & assist reps in making go/no-go decisions on strategic deals
  • Understand a buyers required capabilities, current technical environment & needs, & whether the buyer has a set approach in mind (also known as pre-ordained need)
  • Work collaboratively internally & externally to scope an appropriate solution for a client as necessary and/or to coordinate input & responses from product, software engineering, AV engineering, implementation & operations
  • Work closely with Product & Engineering teams to respond to the technical & security requirements of an RFP
  • Partner with the Sales team to lead & conduct Group Demos of the platform
  • Demonstrate/present the capabilities of Convene solutions, both for Virtual & Hybrid Stream & Studio in accordance with a buyers required needs to result in positive business outcomes
  • Manage completion of Statements of Work/RFIs for virtual solutions & provide feedback loop to Convenes Product team on client-desired features
  • Transition knowledge/relationships to the Virtual Delivery Operations team.
  • Conduct ongoing product training sessions for the sales team on demo site evolution 

What We Look For: 

  • Strong presenter, both virtually & in-person
  • Extensive knowledge of Virtual Event, Live Stream, & AV technologies, processes & best practices
  • Demonstrated skill set to understand a clients event scope & uncover & analyze key business challenges & drivers
  • Ability to architect a solution from concept to completion
  • Strategic, conceptual analytical thinking & problem solving skills
  • Adaptability & flexibility including ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity & change
  • Negotiating skills within a context of political sensitivity & conflicting interests
  • Work in a collaborative environment across cross-functional teams
  • High levels of self-motivation/discipline & effective time management skills
  • Ability to consult or provide guidance on complex matters to non-specialists; ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal & external stakeholders from manager level to C-level
  • Minimum 3 years of solution development/technical/AV, sales engineering experience
  • Contextual knowledge of the Salesforce CRM platform 
  • Expertise in the Sales Enablement/Sales Readiness/Sales Training space preferred
  • This role is currently remote;  however we begin a hybrid return to our NYC corporate office later this year
