We describe ourselves as the most contemporary global creative & media agency.  Were independent, born in social back in 2009; we come from New York & our founder Gary Vaynerchuk  (known by his fans as GaryVee) & we have grown locally & authentically across the world.  We are digital first, were creative & media - were all the things that the advertising industry isnt.  We have gone to the roots of where consumer attention is, building business transformation, building culturally & contextually relevant creative & distributing it via the modern comms plan. VaynerMedia - & VaynerX (our version of a modern holding co) is growing at a crazy rate. New York is the mothership, & we have offices in London, APAC (Singapore, Bangkok, Australia, Tokyo), LATAM (Mexico City) & LA. We have just been awarded AdWeeks Breakthrough Media Agency of the Year & were #5 in AdAges A List (up from Agency to Watch last year. Our first Campaign School Report for EMEA described us as the cool exchange student forming roots which we love a lot as it gets to the heart of what we are trying to do. 

VaynerMedia in EMEA is flying.  We are 130+ strong & doubled in headcount during the pandemic.  Our clients include TikTok (social AOR, run out of London), Durex, Tinder, Kraft Heinz, WeWork, Indeed, among others. Weve been running multiple local market campaigns - integrated media & creative, creative only, media only - across NL, France, Germany, Italy, Spain & there are more on the cards, which is why we are growing our presence in Amsterdam.

VaynerMedia Amsterdam is opening shortly, primarily to partner the many EU clients we have.  We love Amsterdam - its an incredibly creative, innovative & exciting market.  It has diverse talent representing many different countries & communities.  Its the perfect hub for our EU operations. About You:

The People & Experience HR Manager is both a strategic & hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support to our Netherlands & broader EMEA team. The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great employee support, & driving HR functional excellence & process improvement as we continue to expand our Netherlands & EMEA presence.

This position will be part of a team that deeply cares for one another, works harmoniously together & all share in the values of the company & desire to be the best in the world - all while ensuring we are having fun!

This is anything but your standard HR Manager role. This role is about human to human connection. Youll be the leader & guardian of our most prized assets: people. From performance & productivity, recruiting to culture, a lot of very important things will rest on your shoulders.

Your knowledge & experience is both broad & deep from employment law & best practices to talent management. Exposure to design of performance management and/or compensation philosophies & approaches are welcomed. 

The Task at Hand:

Be prepared for one of the most meaningful & purposeful career experiences you can have. You will be tasked with delivering core HR services & taking a true partnership approach to your work. You will provide objective advice regarding complex issues & coach managers on best practices including talent acquisition & retention, payroll, performance management, culture, employee relations, employment law & career development. This role will be the first HR/Operational hire in our Amsterdam office, & will be instrumental in helping to build & grow our team in the Netherlands & EMEA. Were looking for someone who will lead with their heart first, care deeply about the people & the outcomes

 The Role will Require:

  • A true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
  • Experience with rapid & complex changing work environment.
  • An enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment.
  • The ability to be comfortable with high volume workload & not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves.
  • A strong solution focus & be comfortable working in an environment which thrives under the ability to quickly assess scenarios & prepare agile plans of actions.
  • Must be able to build & effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
  • Solid understanding for all of the disciplines within HR: Benefits, Employment Law, Employee Relations, Compliance (including policy creation), Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, HR Systems, HR Operations (including payroll), Employee Engagement, & Organisational Development.
  • A strong understanding of Excel, PowerPoint, G Suite etc. as well as the ability to learn new systems & become the superuser locally. Familiarity with Payroll Solutions & processes, GreenHouse (ATS) & HiBob (HRIS) is a plus.
  • Experience with Dutch employment law & processes, however further EMEA experience is a bonus.

Desirable skills & experience:

  • Proven work experience in HR, preferably as an HR Manager. 
  • Prior experience in professional services or technology/creative environment.
  • Previous experience of developing employee retention & engagement initiatives, in line with company culture & values.
  • Enjoys innovation & change.
  • A flexible & collaborative team member with enormous emotional intelligence.
  • Approachable with high integrity.
  • Comfortable with start-up culture.
