The Role

Iora Health is looking for a seasoned professional with multi-site operating experience to lead Ioras Washington market as a Market Operations Director. The Director will be responsible for building the strategic plan, managing the support infrastructure, & driving the performance of multiple Iora practices serving Medicare patients. The Director will co-lead the market with the Market Medical Director, & be responsible for the growth & profit & loss of Ioras business in Washington (we currently operate 6 primary care practices in the Seattle/Tacoma area).  

This is a tremendous general management opportunity within a growing, mission-oriented organization that serves members of our community (low & moderate income seniors) who struggle to get the quality of care they deserve.

Responsibilities include:

  • Crafting a strategic vision & annual operating plan for the performance & growth of the market, both with regard to enrollment growth & care delivery operations
  • Executing against plans: managing practice & market-level performance to meet a range of important metrics (including patient access, patient service, quality, staffing & financial), supporting teams & ensuring strong operations across six sites in the Seattle/Tacoma market
  • Implementing systems & processes:  Deploying management & operational systems locally that improve patient service, care & operating results; collaborating with front-line teams to solve local problems & provide feedback to collaborators across the country to further build the Iora care model
  • Championing the Iora culture & care model by developing others, serving as a role model for the organizations values, & deeply understanding (and teaching) the key insights that drive Ioras strong performance
  • Partnering with the Market Medical Director to implement a shared vision of success in the market with regard to patient care, team support & overall performance.
  • Driving growth through collaboration with Ioras marketing & patient enrollment teams, partnering with local insurance brokers/agents, encouraging Iora patients refer friends to Iora, & being a vocal champion for Ioras impact on patients
  • Marshalling resources across the organization to ensure success at the market level; working cross-functionally with Boston-based colleagues & other market leaders
  • Hiring & developing strong performers who lead teams effectively, implement systems & processes, learn from mistakes & support the delivery of remarkable care to patients
  • Market Development: having a presence & strong relationships with payer partners as well as hospitals, specialists & other facilities in the Seattle/Tacoma market to further Ioras mission of coordinating high quality patient care
  • Communicating effectively by engaging local leaders & teams in the market strategy & plan, sharing updates on performance against goals; demonstrates poise & perspective in communication, as well as the ability to solve problems independently while staying coordinated with peers & leaders across the company

You Must Be:

  • Passionate about building a consumer-centric, value-based healthcare delivery organization with a foundation in primary care
  • Experienced in planning & operational execution within a multi-site organization
  • A fantastic developer of talent, comfortable coaching individuals so they can be at their best & inspire their teams to do great work
  • An excellent problem solver, able to focus on both the smaller task & the bigger picture
  • A strong communicator, both in-person & in written presentation.
  • Comfortable & capable gathering data & synthesizing it into actionable insights, using tools such as spreadsheets, analysis techniques, etc
  • Passionate about growing our practices & providing great service to patients
  • Oriented to general management - comfortable managing budgets, anticipating staffing needs, building marketing plans, supporting & advocating for teams
  • Able to exercise strong judgment independently & willing to share your opinion with colleagues
  • Comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity & rapid change; an experimenter by nature
  • Deft at working in a dyad medical group management model, in partnership with a Market Medical Director
  • Effective in working with physicians & other members of clinical teams
  • Honest, professional & of the highest integrity

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with demonstrated academic excellence
  • Graduate degree preferred
  • 10+ years of professional experience with track record of leading successful teams; experience managing managers is key
  • Experience in:
    • managing a P&L for a complex enterprise
    • health care services and/or multi-unit consumer businesses or high touch service industry
  • Business to Consumer (B2C) Sales & Marketing oversight
  • Knowledge & experience in the Washington market preferred

Management & Location:

The Market Operations Director will report to the Chief Operating Officer, a member of Ioras Executive team. The Market Operations Director will serve as a member of Ioras Market Leadership team, partnered with the Market Medical Director. The Market Operations Director is expected to live in the Seattle, WA metro area.
