About the Role

Common is seeking a Manager for the Renewals Team to support our growing community of members as well as manage a growing team of Renewal Managers. In this position, you will own renewal metrics across all markets & ensure your team is delighting members as they renew with Common. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Leasing.


  • Hire, manage, train & develop a team of Renewal Managers
  • Determine renewal targets for the team & ensure they are hit on a monthly & quarterly basis 
  • Create processes to ensure the team is proactively managing their portfolio of member renewals, identify risks & ensure member retention & high renewal rates
  • Develop a framework for discovering & identifying potential upsell opportunities as members consider different homes in Commons portfolio
  • Ensure that team is facilitating member requests to transfer between homes, including qualification & walkthrough of options
  • Collaborate with Member Support management to address any concerns or roadblocks concerning members up for renewal
  • Build & implement processes that improve the rental workflow 
  • Own your own portfolio of renewals


  • You have 5+ years of people management experience
  • 5+ years experience in Leasing, Renewals, Account Management, or a similar role (real estate preferred but not required)
  • Demonstrated success & experience managing a growing team of Renewals Managers
  • Extreme level of empathy & ability to connect with people from all walks of life; ability to balance a passion for making people happy while setting expectations that will scale
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Impeccable organization, attention to detail, & ability to handle high volume & manage your own time
  • Self-starter thats comfortable operating in an ambiguous environment & able to make smart decisions quickly using both data & strong emotional intelligence
  • Experience working cross-functionally with a demonstrated ability to both give & receive constructive feedback
  • Experience managing a portfolio in Salesforce or similar CRM
