Overview:

Were looking for a Pop Up Stores Manager to help us continue to introduce new cities to Glossier in real life. You will be responsible for traveling to manage our temporary retail locations & the local teams across the country & helping to bring our offline experiences to life, all the way from setup through breakdown. Were looking for a passionate team leader & culture carrier who loves traveling & is committed to delivering an exceptional experience for our teams & our customers.

What You Will Do:

  • Team Management
    • Travel to manage our local teams on the ground in the cities we decide to create an offline experience in
    • Be a culture carrier who is committed to building, fostering, & maintaining team culture
    • Lead, mentor, & monitor individual performance, identifying opportunities for growth & development & delivering constructive feedback accordingly
    • Be comfortable giving feedback & coaching teams in a high-volume environments
    • Find solutions when challenges come up & always have the customers experience in mind
    • Scheduling, creating & adapting daily zone charts, & maintaining time card accuracy
  • Store Operations
    • Maintain inventory of all products, collateral, testing tools, & supplies
    • Maintain relationships with local vendors & service providers
    • Maintain & educate on our visual merchandising standards
    • Collect & share quantitative & qualitative feedback & insights to help improve & refine our temporary retail experiences & operations
  • Hiring, Onboarding & Training
    • Support conducting interviews & making hiring decisions to design local teams
    • Design strategic store team schedules to appropriately support operations
    • Support training process & scheduling for each local team, including leading in-person training sessions
  • Project Development in Partnership with HQ Cross-functional Teams
    • Support ongoing project management for temporary retail projects with a focus on facilitating productive cross-functional collaboration across several departments & teams
    • Partner with Brand & Community teams to assist with executing of marketing & events initiatives on the ground & serve as point of contact

Our Ideal Candidate...

  • Has 3 or more years experience leading retail teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment (experience in retail & experience pop-up environments a plus!)
  • Must love traveling - position requires up to 60% travel & extended stays - 3+ weeks at a time in specific cities across the US & internationally
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills, with a developed understanding of how to lead & motivate a team
  • Is a solution-oriented leader with a growth-mindset
  • Is scrappy & entrepreneurial, you are a problem solver by nature & are not afraid of change
  • Has the ability to think about the big picture, especially when it comes to customer experience & broader retail strategy
  • Can identify opportunities, be creative & generate insights for improvement
  • Has the desire & willingness to roll up your sleeves & jump in when the situation requires it
  • Has a passion for building an exceptional team & customer experience

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 6-8 hours a shift in a retail environment
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store, including sales floor & stock areas, by standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending & climbing a ladder or step stool
  • Ability to fully engage with customers, including applying products to customers faces, sharing product knowledge, & creating positive shopping experiences unique to the customers individual needs
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at any given time; ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Computer & technology proficient
  • Comfortable working in an environment that is frequently photographed & recorded
  • Lives in a commutable distance from the job location
