The Role

BuzzFeed is looking for a Senior Social Media Strategist to join our team. You will work on the Video Social Team & have a hand in all social platforms. This role will focus heavily on creating social strategy around Tasty & food content. . 

This role reports to our Lead Social Media Strategist, Video.

You Will

  • Work with Lead Social Media Strategist to help define day-to-day operations & publishing priorities for Tasty content on all social platforms
  • Develop social strategy for Tasty videos / their distribution & partner with Tasty video producers to help ideate new videos & engage our audience
  • Help Tasty social develop promotion strategies & pursue new opportunities around products like Tasty cookware & promotion of Tasty Creators. 
  • Ideate & lead creative strategy around our shortform video initiatives, & work with our Tasty team & talent  to execute these shortform videos. 
  • Analyze & craft reports on social performance & trends, messaging key results to Tasty, social, & business teams
  • Engage with the BuzzFeed Tasty community across platforms
  • Help maintain the cheery & collaborative BuzzFeed culture with a positive attitude & obsession with the things people are sharing, liking, recommending & talking about on the internet

You Have

  • 3+ years experience running social accounts for a major publisher or brand
  • 1+ years of people management experience
  • Experience working with food/lifestyle content
  • Experience in publishing/ optimizing video to social media, & helping brands/ publishers create engaging social video content 
  • Ability to leverage data to understand an audience & explain data to other teams in an easy-to-understand way 
  • A self-motivated personality comfortable carving out new responsibilities 
  • A strong understanding of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc., & why content on those platforms takes off or captures an audience 
  • A positive, curious, playful disposition
  • A genuine love for & excitement about the internet
