About the Role
The Merchandise Planner will be responsible for developing, executing & maintaining merchandise plans for one or more high growth departments. You will report to a Planning Manager or Director & have exposure to Planning & Merchandising Leadership as well as other senior level cross-functional partners. In addition to business management, you will drive forward strategic initiatives with outsized impact across the Planning team, Company-level innovations & our clients. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starting, sharply analytical problem-solver with proven planning acumen & the ability to adapt to the Stitch Fix business model.
You're excited about this role because you will...
- Ensure the success of one or more departments by meeting or exceeding plans for sales volume, inventory turnover & gross margin, across multiple Revenue channels
- Deeply analyze & drive performance in emerging direct order revenue channel
- Help to launch new modes of inventory ownership to drive improved financial performance
- Create pre-season plans & in-season forecasts for multiple product departments
- Manage & maintain rolling operating financial forecast (OTB/ROF) in collaboration with buyers to optimize business performance
- Recap & analyze actual sales results to plan & forecast in-season sales & inventories on a weekly, monthly & quarterly basis
- Forecast receipt flow to ensure optimal inventory levels that balance liability & opportunity
- Assess & evaluate inventory risks & opportunities in a high-growth environment
- Responsible for in-season scenario planning as well as actionable recommendations to address business needs
- Form strong working relationships with Buying team
- Partner directly with Allocation, Sourcing, Product Development, Operations, Engineering & Data Science teams
- Perform ad-hoc analysis based on historical performance, product attributes & customer attributes
- Manage & develop an Analyst as a direct report
We're excited about you because...
- You have a college degree (preferably a BS in a business-related field) with 5-7 years of prior retail planning & e-commerce experience
- You are extremely proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
- You have strong planning & organizational skills
- You are experienced in tops-down, bottoms-up planning
- You are comfortable & confident making decisions & recommendations grounded in data
- You are able to thrive in a fast-paced environment that embraces change
- You have a bias towards action, results-focused & detail oriented
- You possess excellent verbal & written communication skills
- You have a solid understanding of retail math, merchandising financials & profitability KPIs
- You have experience mentoring or managing others
