WHAT YOULL DO

You will drive the end-to-end event marketing strategy for Vox Media Experiential & Conferences team. Partnering with producers & leadership, you will develop the marketing strategy for a broad spectrum of experiential programs from marketing virtual event activations to a suite of in-person events. You will drive promotion & engagement strategy to market Vox Media brands & lines of business to engage audiences & convert them to event attendees, subscribers, to editorial franchise readers & to drive commerce. This position requires a hands-on experienced individual with a good balance of audience marketing, content strategy, & collaborative competencies.

  • Lead experiential marketing efforts across the team with high-level input on tactics, tools & cross departmental support 
  • Research, develop & implement technical platforms for the experiential team based on current needs & innovations as well as annual budgets including CRM, website, data management & virtual event platforms 
  • Lead on audience segmentation, attendance strategy & promotional assets & tools to maximize exposure, procure a qualified audience & build first-party data 
  • Oversee clear target audiences based upon sponsor objectives, editorial vision, brand marketing/exposure or other key objectives for each event & program. Clearly understand each event, its unique market position & target audiences. 
  • Oversee the marketing strategy for every event product via paid, earned & owned channels. This also includes creating premium bundles such as subscriptions to event series, subscriptions plus events, special communities plus events, masterclasses, & exclusive merchandise
  • Collaborate with I&I, data & analytics teams on regular research & data from promotional efforts, event audiences, & metrics to inform & develop key takeaways on products to develop, customer experience & sponsorship opportunities 
  • Develop customer journey with a corresponding schedule to implement consumer-facing, ticket sales/revenue driving marketing campaigns for key initiatives & develop copy/storytelling mechanisms to drive engagement pre, during & post event as needed
  • Develop & update external-facing materials in partnership with brand marketing & communications teams including GP, sizzle reel(s), recap decks, external communications, OOH advertising, marketing partners & others as necessary 
  • Collaborate closely with a team of event producers, sponsors, creative teams, copy writers, consumer & brand marketing, insights, network development, media planners & journalists to develop marketing plans that deliver on virtual experiences & audiences.
  • Create & implement communication strategy for key events including messaging, inflection points, digital assets, including banners & graphics for website, emails, media, environmental & more. Push beyond existing marketing approaches to explore new means of exposure & audience development 
  • Work closely with programming, communications & brand marketing team to ensure strategic, as well as consistent brand identification including the rollout of speaker announcements, event messaging & press releases for timely news management & awareness 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by manager or supervisor

  • Extremely organized individual with experience managing highly visible projects with multiple stakeholders including leadership, sponsors & journalists
  • You have a demonstrated track record of taking complex & important topics & distilling them into must-attend marketing content
  • Enjoy developing creative ideas for experiences based on marketing strategy, messaging & program objectives
  • Constantly stay up to date on trends, competitors & culture with an eye toward innovation
  • A thriving thought leader with significant knowledge of all aspects on experiential marketing including cutting edge techniques to engage & excite the consumer
  • Enjoy keeping up with industry trends & concept development to push Vox Media to the forefront of the industry
  • A significant level of independent thought & an ability to embrace ambiguity & challenge existing norms to exceed the goals & objectives of the marketing team
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, innovative, & rapidly evolving industry & business organization

WHERE YOULL WORK

This job is remote/in office in New York City. Were dedicated to the health & wellbeing of all of our employees, & when we reopen, will require everyone who works from one of our offices to be fully-vaccinated against COVID-19.
