The Role:

As a Sr. Manager of Billing & Coding Operations, you will be leading the charge to transform healthcare & transform our processes to support our company key priorities & success measures. Correct billing & coding is a critical part of our ability to both deliver great results to our patients & ensure we are being paid appropriately for our services. We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented leader who can lead our billing efforts & manage a team of supporting analysts.   This role will include assessing current billing & coding operations & processes & identifying areas to redesign and/or optimize, including the following areas: 

  • Practice front-desk operations
  • Coding - risk adjustment & E&M/CPT
  • Vendor management
  • Billing & collections
  • Denials management
  • Revenue cycle IT system(s)
  • Patient experience & customer service
  • Payor claims reconciliation
  • Provider & care team education
  • Compliance policies & procedures, including audits & monitoring 

The successful candidate brings: 

  • Technical revenue cycle management  professional knowledge (performance indicators, processes) & capabilities
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills, as well as excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Ability to manage a team of analysts & coders
  • Vendor selection & management experience & expertise
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment (knows when to lead & when to follow)
  • Strong change management & process improvement skills
  • People management skills to lead a small team of coders & analysts
  • Experience with both fee for service & value-based care claims management is preferred

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Bachelors degree in business, health administration, finance or a related field is required. Masters degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience 
  • Knowledge & experience working in specific revenue cycle management functional areas including patient access (scheduling, insurance verification, financial counselling, registration & admitting) & patient accounting (billing, collections, managed care contract administration, etc.)
  • 2+ years of people management experience required
  • Experience working across sectors, in a fast-growth, fast-paced environment, and/or in a highly complex, matrixed organization.
  • Excellent organizational, project & program management skills; experience leading change & implementing programs
  • Strong quantitative & analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be an effective, collaborative partner with internal & external stakeholders
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • This role requires 10-15% travel
