We are looking for a high-performing, commercially focussed, analytical & collaborative person to join our International Finance team. This position will be a dedicated business partner to support the International business as well as serve as the key connective tissue to the US FP&A team. This person will help drive cross functional alignment to enable smarter & more financially informed decision making by assisting the International Leadership team to identify & implement strategies to help drive short & long-term financial performance. This includes supporting the business & financial planning process, identifying risks & opportunities in the P&L & driving recommendations. This is an opportunity that affords significant exposure & impact on senior-level decision making.

Roles & responsibilities / What you will accomplish:

  • Own financial performance management for the International P&L by providing insights around key historical & forecasted drivers
    • Partner with the business to drive long-term & near-term performance, building high quality plans & outlooks, analysing actual performance & actioning against opportunities & risks.
    • Leverage existing systems & tools to own the presentation of financial results & forecasts, support monthly financial reviews & track & analyse monthly performance by channel/customer.
    • Own the monthly profit review sessions with International leadership, providing insight into risks & opportunities in the forward forecast, recommending solutions as needed to manage revenue & cost targets.
    • Be an integral partner with the commercial teams to improve promotional effectiveness, drive revenues, grow margins & understand drivers for deviations to forecast & prior year across the business.
    • Carry out detailed total/category/customer level analysis to provide understanding of the changing shape of the business & assist with commercial decision making.
  • Improve the way we think about, anticipate & reflect commercial decisions by providing financial direction & guidance around brand innovation & capital allocation
    • Guide & support cross functional teams on specific New Product Innovation business cases with a focus on highlighting key financial metrics versus the current business.
    • Partner with analytics, sales & marketing teams on pre & post launch analysis for new product innovation
    • Support the bridge between long-term planning, & the operating forecasts, managing the forecast cycles with the International team.
    • Directly support the International GM on their P&L & provide ad-hoc financial analysis 
    • Support the commercial teams with ongoing margin analysis, identifying key trends, need for future forecast corrections & identify potential avenues to improve margins at a customer level
    • Build out a clear view of growth drivers contributing to the P&L as part of the budget process & LTP development 

 About you / This should describe you:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in a highly commercial role, ideally with previous accounting experience
  • Relevant degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics or similar
  • Solid understanding of P&L & profitability analysis & strong working knowledge of CPG financials preferred (e.g. sales & marketing finance & KPIs/drivers)
  • Experience using an ERP & planning system, as well as excellent modelling skills
  • Ability to explain & break down complex financial concepts to non-financial partners
  • Strong communication, influencing & relationship building skill
  • Ability to effectively work under pressure, managing multiple & changing priorities
  • High level of motivation & energy with desire to roll up your sleeves moving from the high level to the detail as necessary
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, & contend with complexity
  • Strong commercial & business acumen 
  • Strong team player who manages collaboratively with all stakeholders
  • Compelling influencing & communication skills, & ability to lead informal teams
  • Sense of humor - we take our work seriously & ourselves un-seriously
