Brief Description:

Working within Appians Marketing team the Marketing Events Manager will be responsible for helping to plan & manage marketing events focused on trade shows & industry conferences as well as assisting with management of large user group meetings & seminars. The role will also be responsible for operational, implementation & post-event activities including budget reconciliation & ROI reports.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research & feasibility studies to identify new event opportunities for Appian that support lead & sales goals
  • Execute corporate trade show strategy while working closely with internal & external stakeholders to define event goals, objectives & specific implementation plans that promote Appians brand & support lead & sales goals
  • Determine fiscal requirements & prepare budget for each trade show & event
  • Negotiate agreements with outside providers & subcontractors & make recommendations on vendor selection
  • Source venues, recommend & engage catering, acquire supporting technology & coordinate development of materials to execute a quality event
  • Coordinate & carry out project deliverables on schedule
  • Manage booth inventory in conjunction with exhibit warehouse & oversee installation & dismantle of onsite booth properties
  • Establish staff schedules, task assignments, equipment allocation
  • Conduct post-event briefing sessions & report on event ROI
  • Manage onsite lead collection & meetings to ensure post event lead dissemination is efficient & supports lead follow up
  • Provide post-event analysis, budget recaps & participant feedback & incorporate learning into future plans
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

About You:

  • 3-5+ years tradeshow & event management experience in an Enterprise Software environment
  • Bachelors Degree
  • CTSM and/or CMP Preferred
  • Experience in crafting results-driven marketing programs
  • Critical thinking, strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate with customers & senior executives
  • Experience in designing & managing programs that offer a world class customer experience
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced & results-oriented environment
