  • Build, launch & maintain features & applications to help positively impact health outcomes & happiness of our members. 
  • Create & maintain tools that empower our care team & support our operations. 
  • Solve & own technical problems over a wide array of systems, processes & technologies. Partner with cross functional stakeholders to solve problems across the full product lifecycle.
  • Research, adopt & advocate for new technologies.

What you need for this role: 

  • 3+ years of experience building high quality production web applications in a team setting.
  • Deep experience with Ruby on Rails. You should be comfortable with working with Rails in developing new features or modifying existing ones.
  • Experience building scalable APIs. GraphQL experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with a front-end framework like React, Vue, or Angular. All of us work up & down the stack, from styling to deployment. You should know how front-end frameworks are structured & can modify existing code.
  • Deep experience working with relational databases & modeling data.
  • Strong OO design skills & an understanding of design patterns.
  • Strong technical responsibility over the products you work on & the codebases you maintain. 
  • Ability to work across multiple teams & comfortably navigate unfamiliar systems. 
  • Ability to mentor & teach other engineers of the team & organization. 
  • Empathy, a mindful collaborative spirit, & the ability to work effectively with a team. 
  • Advocate for test-driven development, pairing, incremental refactoring & sustainable practices. 
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity, positive attitude, & a desire to influence the products being built.
