A member of Modas vibrant editorial team & reporting to the Editorial Director, the Beauty & Lifestyle Editor role offers a unique opportunity to plan & execute beauty storytelling in service of our exciting newly-launched category as well as meaningfully contribute to other editorial content 

This is a hybrid role with 1 day a week in our Brooklyn NYC office required.

Moda abides by the NYC vaccination mandate for workplaces, as such only candidates with completed covid-19 vaccinations will be considered for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Plan & execute Modas beauty editorial content (concept, image, copy) in collaboration with Editorial Director & Beauty Director, ensuring programming is on-brand & aligned with business priorities across Trunkshow (drop) & Boutique models 
• Pitch, write, & edit beauty stories that drive core business priorities & fit within the wider framework of Modas editorial themes & calendar
• Regularly update the beauty homepage (planning, copy, image, curations) 
• Execute email content for our successful newsletter (concept, image, copy, curation) 
• Update stories, landing pages & curations with key product or messages as needed 
• Collaborate with other editors & writers on content across all Modas categories: fashion, fine jewelry, home & beauty 
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners inc. social on storytelling (inc. concepting, writing, curating, visual layout) 
• Liaise cross-functionally (ie merchandising, stylists, product copy, paid) to share key messaging, stories, & talking points
• Image organization & research
• This role is not strictly limited to beauty content. Must be able to complete the above across categories if necessary: support home, fashion, fine jewelry & lifestyle 

Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience as editor / writer required
• BA degree in English preferred 
• Published work (written or edits) lifestyle/beauty/luxury required
• Be an obsessive beauty insider, staying abreast of latest brands, trends, & exciting people
• Aware of wider trends & news outside of fashion & beauty
• Excellent editor (selecting imagery & product curation)
• Understand Moda brand voice & how to contextualize the products we carry within lifestyle 
• Highly organized & able to action feedback on deadline 
• Motivated self-starter who can bring ideas & enthusiasm to the table 
• Social media experience advantageous (creating content) 
• Video content experience advantageous (concepting, script writing etc)
