Moda Operandi is seeking a seasoned Fashion Stylist to work in our photo studio styling on-model, forms & still life imagery for boutique & trunkshow. Taking direction from our Senior Manager of Styling & in-house production team, this position will work to elevate & execute the fashion styling across all site categories. The ideal candidate will have an impeccable fashion sense, be eager to learn our styling techniques & aesthetic & work closely with our studio team to bring Moda Operandi product to life. An obsessive attention to detail, luxury ecommerce styling experience, & awareness of the Moda Operandi brand a must
This is a part time (24 hours/ week) on-site position based at our Brooklyn studio.
This position pays $34/ hour.
Responsibilities:
- Style on brand, on trend & editorially relevant on-model outfits for our daily photo sets & present to the Senior Manager of Styling for approval - including Trunkshow on-model styling when required
- Partner with the on-set photographer to select all necessary on-model perspectives to ensure photo assets feel fresh & directional
- Style or assist bust forms & still-life sets as needed
- Work closely with the Senior Manager of Styling to understand Modas aesthetic & style product from a consistent POV
- Manage all pulls & preparation of merchandise prior to shoots
- Oversee handling of merchandise while in studios possession, ensuring it is received & returned in immaculate, sellable condition & in a timely manner
- Liaise with Retouching teams to ensure all intended notes are actioned before product launches
- Liaise with Buying teams to ensure product is being shot according to brand/designer/season specifications & all necessary styling pieces have been pulled
- Monitor website to ensure a consistency amongst product shots & alert team of any discrepancies
- Partner with Creative & Editorial teams on catered brand & seasonal projects when needed
- Assist in managing studio interns
Requirements:
- 2+ years fashion styling experience in a luxury environment- both on-model & forms / still life
- Commercially aware with strong knowledge of designers, brands, trends & Moda Operandi point-of-view
- A strong individual sense of style, combined with an understanding of Modas aesthetic & the ability to merge the two effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing, e-commerce setting & respond to change with positive attitude; communicate effectively & collaborate well with team members a must
- Exceptional work ethic & organizational skills, along with a keen eye for detail
- Willingness to travel both domestically & internationally & work off-hours, as needed
- Ability to resolve complex issues when relevant & communicate workflow status & concerns to studio team
- Professional, well spoken with strong communication skills
- Pro-active & able to show initiative & generate ideas to constantly improve the image quality of the site & studio processes
- Proficiency in photoshop, capture one & bridge a plus
