WHY BOX NEEDS YOU  

Box is looking for a dynamic NOC Technician to join our Network Operations Centre & support an industry-leading platform. This fixed term, 12 month entry level position will have you supporting the team with their roles of monitoring, troubleshooting, & resolving issues that affect the availability & quality of the Box platform. The NOC is the frontline of defence in making sure our customers like GE, Pandora, Apple & Gap have a seamless experience when accessing their content on Box. 

This job is great for anyone who is looking to kickstart their career in engineering in a SaaS company. As you progress through the year, your responsibilities will grow & it will provide you with great learning opportunities in an engineering role. You will help ensure the overall production site health & the performance of core customer facing journeys.

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

  • Support key production facing services & maintain a world class customer experience.

  • Support the troubleshooting of critical problems through applications, systems, clouds, & networks

  • Support the team to quickly solve problems caused by customer-impacting events

  • Assist operations across organizational boundaries to protect our customers, their data, & the availability of all Box services

  • Assist building tools & processes to improve manageability, observability, resiliency & time to restore service for critical incidents

 

WHO YOU ARE 

  • Entry level position so we do not require any formal experience: just a keenness to learn & a passion for technology & engineering

  • You enjoy coding in your spare time

  • You take initiative when you see a problem; you enjoy seeking out knowledge

  • You are confident & comfortable communicating to a broad audience

  • You are calm & collected in stressful situations

  • You're driven to learn new skills & technologies

 

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Some knowledge of Linux (CentOS, RedHat) or Python

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
