Job Description

Team Summary

The Business Development team at Visa is at the forefront of client relationship management & responsible for new business opportunities with existing clients. This team is also responsible for bringing new client partnerships to Visa. Working with senior management at client side, aligning Visa's business strategy with client's business strategy & arriving at the common goals for both the organizations is a key deliverable. This team works across the length & breadth of the client organization to spot & execute Visa's business strategy.

This team comprises of self-motivated & highly driven individuals who excel with partners, work collaboratively with other teams at Visa & have excellent project management skills. Being the face of Visa with the payments industry participants gives them an opportunity to work with myriad set of organizations.

What a Business Development Leader does at Visa:

Responsible for the development & implementation of business development strategy to

  • Win new accounts
  • Increase revenues from existing accounts.
  • Increase share of portfolio & spend numbers from existing accounts
  • Increase the Client Satisfaction rating

Support the implementation of the functional strategy

  • Partnering closely with key stakeholders to support & implement product development strategy for existing & new accounts
  • Enhance penetration of existing products within current & new accounts
  • Focus on client education to lay the foundation for the next phase of growth
  • Work on growing overall Client volumes across products (Debit, Credit, Prepaid, Acceptance & Commercial)

Relationship management for a group of assigned accounts

  • Develop an understanding of the client's strengths & opportunities & partner them to maximize their business potential
  • Use consultative selling to focus on deepening client partnership

Expanding the penetration of existing as well as emerging products within current & new accounts

Directly supporting senior sales staff on their areas of responsibility

Key Result Areas:

  • Manage business relationships with existing clients to ensure that Visa is the association of choice & deriving a larger part of their business for Visa.
  • Identifying potential new clients to launch Visa's payment products & programs. Manage these accounts from the initial pitch to their public launch.
  • Co-ordinate Visa's support & services across various functional areas i.e. Client Support Services, Brand / Marketing, Acceptance, Risk & Product management groups to deliver added value to client banks
  • Extend Visa's leadership across Products e.g. Credit, Debit, Commercial cards, Remittance, E commerce, Innovation & Emerging products
  • Establish alliance partners (banks, non- banks, technology service providers) & create new business opportunities for growth of Visa business

Qualifications

  • Recognized degree preferably in Business Management
  • 12+ years of proven sales experience, with strong account management experience, project management experience & relationship management experience, business consultation experience from the relevant industry
  • Financial management
  • Deal structuring, negotiation, documentation & execution
  • Good analytical skill to understand the profitability of issuing & acquiring business
  • Knowledge of payments systems & the cards
  • Excellent client management, collaborative work style & impactful communication skills
