We use data & technology to give consumers the tools they need to find, buy, finance, or sell a car. With a substantial following & engaged audience, we're seeking outstanding talent to accelerate our growth.

As PistonHeads' Digital Content Editor, youll be working in a hybrid role, splitting your time between the editorial & marketing teams. On the one hand you will be required to produce irreverent, informative, & entertaining copy on everything from bargain supercars to overpriced hot hatches; on the other, you will be responsible for growing our social media following, supporting marketing campaigns & generating all-important leads to our classified dealers.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary depending on the specific demands of each department. Certainly, you will be expected to identify feature opportunities that appeal to an enthusiast audience & communicate them in a way that resonates with a highly informed readership. This will include everything from reporting the unveiling of an electric hypercar to highlighting a cheap V8 wagon in the classifieds. An understanding of the best SEO practice & how this content should be presented across our social channels is core to the role.

You will report to our Marketing & Community Manager & will be integrated into almost everything PH does & expected to generate ideas to grow traffic across the board. Alongside a fundamental responsibility for running social media, you will contribute to broader marketing strategy, & be expected to build, schedule & report on email campaigns. Experience of sub editing & B2B copywriting is an advantage; knowing the difference between a 993 & a 996 is requirement.

Not only will you be expected to understand & engage with PHers - the constituents of the site's vast online community - you will be one of them, too. Which will mean bringing your inquisitiveness, passion, & levity to work every day, & being an ambassador for the PH-way when it comes to coordinating & attending events. You will be based at home in the short term, with the flexibility to work up to three days a week in the South Bank area of central London in the future.

What you'll do:

  • 3+ years experience working in a journalism, PR or marketing role
  • Solid understanding of luxury & performance cars
  • Dedicated, creative & analytical
  • Experience in running social media channels
  • Ability to travel & work weekends occasionally

Who You Are:

  • Experience with copywriting & sub editing
  • Experience using a social scheduling tool, such as Hootsuite or Buffer
  • Experience using analytics tools such as Google Analytics
  • Experience using an email marketing platform, such as Marketo, Sailthru or Mailchimp
