THE POSITION: 
Our roster has an opening with your name on it

We are looking to add an In-House Counsel to our legal team with a minimum of 3 years of experience working at a nationally-recognized law firm or in-house at an internet/technology company to provide legal support for all labor & employment matters involving FanDuel Group. Reporting to the Director Labor & Employment, this position will work with many of FanDuels business teams.

THE GAME PLAN:
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Provide legal guidance to colleagues in Human Resources & other key business partners regarding all substantive employment law areas as directed by the Director Labor & Employment.
  • Assist with providing employment legal advice in a broad range of employment related matters, including investigations, wage & hour, immigration, & restrictive covenants.
  • Draft & counsel on employment-related documents, including contracts, offer letters, agreements & policies.
  • Keep abreast of & address compliance & issues of interpretation under federal, state & local employment laws including the Age Discrimination In Employment Act, Older Workers Benefit Protection Act, Family & Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII, ACA, & Paid Leave.
  • Assist with employment law-related projects, including process reviews, new policy creation & implementation, & creation & delivery of training programs.
  • Provide support on employment-related pre-litigation & litigation matters. Oversee outside counsel as needed.
  • Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, & government oversight activities relating to employment issues & provide proactive, strategic advice to the relevant partners.
  • Provide legal support for FanDuel's diversity, equity & inclusion efforts.
  • Maintain & keep up-to-date expert knowledge of employment laws, regulations, pending legislation & practices. 
  • Build close relationships with personnel at supported business operations. 
  • Provide sound business judgment, confidence, a sense of ownership, drive, comfort making tough calls where the answer is not clear, & an aptitude to learn quickly the nuances of the internet, technology & media businesses.

THE STATS:
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • JD from a top tier law school & member of the California state bar.
  • Minimum 3 years of labor & employment experience at a nationally-recognized law firm or internet/technology company.
  • Experience providing legal advice on employment law issues.
  • Passion to work hard in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal).
  • Detail-oriented, organized, efficient & resourceful.
