Which is where you come in. We are looking for an Engineer who cares deeply about supporting practitioners & teams, so they can do their best work, & partnering with business units to achieve crucial outcomes that will propel the vision of democratizing technology skills forward for the world.
Our Experience Organization is organized into business units around customer experiences (Learner Experiences, Leader Experiences, Content Creator Experiences, etc.). This allows groups of teams to organize around & focus on the most important objectives for our customers, & for Pluralsight - & allow teams to rally around clear goals. While these Business Units have strategic leaders, who lead teams around business objectives, they also need the help of Engineering Principals in the Practices Org to support each team & individual contributor in doing their best work.
The individual in this role will help sustain & evolve Engineering Practices in order to support an Experience org of over 400+ individual contributors. They report to the Head of Engineering Practices, which is a role on the Practices Leadership team. Their peers are the principals on the Engineering Practices team, & together, they will understand & facilitate Engineering Practices across the entire Experience Org. As a principal engineer, they will focus on building relationships with the Business Unit Leaders, working side-by-side with Engineering Teams, & coaching & mentoring individual software engineers. They will gain a deep understanding of the Objectives & Key results of the Business Unit & will partner with the teams & leaders to deliver to them. They will use their deep knowledge of their engineering discipline to understand the skills of others & to work alongside & coach in any moment of need, & will organize & lead across groups of teams. They will also be responsible for facilitating cross-team collaborative efforts across experience business units, & becoming strategic & supportive partners with the Infrastructure org to act as the conduit for crucial engineering information, as well as gathering & communicating back to Infrastructure on behalf of the Business Units & engineers.

Together with their team, they will be responsible for healthy, staffed, & performative experience teams, making sure that all Engineering roles within the experience org are staffed with appropriately skilled, thriving individual contributors. They will partner with business unit leaders to develop a deep knowledge of the organization's goals & help them create a strategy around how to achieve them. They will build a data-driven culture throughout the organization. They & their team members will be embedded across the Experience Org doing the following things:
