As the most-senior Category Manager in Musical Instruments, Arts & Crafts, you are responsible for building & implementing the strategy for a high-growth department, leading & developing a team of category managers & category specialists through execution of that strategy & establishing efficient processes, milestones & tools for the total department. It's your job to ensure your team is efficient & effective as they develop a best-in-class assortment, deliver competitive pricing that lives up to our brand promise, create a high-converting customer experience & analyze marketplace trends to identify new opportunities for the future. Creativity & agility will be paramount as you identify retail trends & synthesize information & partnerships across multiple cross-functional touch points, providing goals, communicating business needs & driving solutions in a fast-paced, multi-dimensional environment.

Develops & implements strategic direction for highly-complex hobbying departments, including assortment, pricing, merchandising, marketing & product strategies to deliver sales & profit goals & grow market share across multiple platforms.
-Drives sales & gross profit through the optimization of product assortment, pricing, inventory channels & customer experience.
-Identifies & remove roadblocks for the broader team
-Resident Subject Matter Expert, cultivating cross-functional relationships that allow you to help the broader team move fast.
-Partners with Curation & Site Ops teams to build aspirational product stories & increase Instruments/Arts & Crafts exposure both internally & externally
-Collaborates with Marketing across all platforms to build high-converting traffic drivers for distinct customer profiles & deliver to exposure plans
-Drives the execution of multiple business plans & projects to ensure business needs are being met
-Maximizes the return on inventory investment in partnership with the Merchandise Planning team, cross-functional partners, & suppliers
-Models compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, & standards of ethics & integrity & ensures team is in compliance
-Provides development & supervision to Instruments/Arts & Crafts team, ensuring team priorities are aligned with business priorities & skillsets are continuously upleveled
-Supports cross-channel & company initiatives to achieve global strategic multi-channel plans
6+ years of proven experience in buying & site merchandising
4+ years of Managerial experience developing Assoc. Buyers, Buyers or Category Managers
Industry background required
Must have experience developing strong business relationships with vendors, industry leaders & cross-functional partners
Have managed & maintained open-to-buy
Must have experience managing & creating new categories of business in extremely competitive environment
Must have experience with high risk, high volume, complex categories of goods
Must have experience managing margin to meet category objectives
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
