Were hiring a Senior Engineer for our Tech Platform team. Youll join our team of 4 Engineers & a Technical Program Manager with the mission to make glossier.coms infrastructure fast, reliable, & efficient.
The Tech Platform team is responsible for Glossiers site reliability, performance, & security. On a given day, you may pair with other engineers to ensure a service degrades gracefully during expected failure modes; build tooling to keep our CI/CD pipeline fast & reliable; run load testing to ensure services meet our performance & capacity expectations; & facilitate a blameless learning review.
As a senior engineer, youll be a role model for inclusivity & mindful communication, as you look for ways to improve our effectiveness & engender a positive culture.
6 Month Expectations:
- Contribute to major projects, like pre-generated pages to improve performance & site reliability, next-gen deployment tooling so we can own our availability & more quickly recover from production incidents, & a multi-region AWS strategy.
- Find & fix capacity bottlenecks ahead of Black Friday, our biggest sales day.
- Set personal & professional development goals. Our Engineering Ladder is publicly available, & is a useful tool to help support the growth of our team.
12 Month Expectations:
- Identify & ship impactful projects aligned with the Platform teams mission of accelerating the product development cycle while meeting ever higher resiliency & security objectives.
- Be a flag-bearer of our diverse & inclusive culture.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Several years experience designing & implementing production infrastructure on AWS
- Familiarity maintaining high-performance datastores (we use Postgres on RDS, Redis, & DynamoDB)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools & workflows, especially CloudFormation or Terraform.

- Information you provide to us during an interview or that we collect through the recruitment process (g. work authorization status, willingness to relocate, salary expectations, type of employment contract, interview notes, results of any assessment);
- Reference information and/or information received from background checks if you are offered a job (where applicable), including information provided by third parties such as past employers, educational institutions & references; and
- Information about your educational & professional background from publicly available sources, including online, that we believe is relevant to your application (g. your LinkedIn profile).
Your decision to apply for a position & provide your personal information to us is voluntary. We will tell you if information is required to move forward with your application.

- URLs that refer visitors to our websites;
- Search terms used to reach our websites;
- Details about the devices that are used to access our websites (such as IP address, browser information, device information, & operating system information);
- Details about your interaction with our websites (such as the date, time, length of stay, & specific pages accessed during your visits to our websites, & which emails you may have opened); and
- Usage information (such as the number & frequency of visitors to our websites).
We may associate this information with your Glossier account if you have one, the device you use to connect to our Services, or email or social media accounts that you use to engage with Glossier.
IV. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your personal information to evaluate a potential employment relationship with you & for other business purposes. Such uses include:
- Assessment of your skills, qualifications, & suitability for the role;
- Communication with you about the recruitment process;
- Verification of your information & completion of reference and/or background checks (where applicable) if we offer you a position;
- Retention of records related to our hiring processes, including a record of the name of unsuccessful applicants, the date of their application & the reason that their application was not successful, in order to streamline future hiring processes;
- Legal & compliance purposes, such as responding to suspected fraud, security incidents, or other illegal activity, protecting Glossiers & others rights & property, exercising a legal claim, cooperating with law enforcement investigations & complying with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes or governmental requests;

V. WHO MAY HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR INFORMATION
Within Glossier: We may disclose your personal data to Glossier personnel & affiliates who need to know the information, including personnel in the recruiting, human resources & information technology departments, & in the department responsible for the position for which you are applying.
Third-Party Service Providers: We may use third party service providers acting on Glossiers behalf to perform some of the services described above. For example, we share certain information with service providers who facilitate our applicant tracking system, video interviews, travel booking & expenses, reporting & analytics & verification/background checking services. We also may share information about you with recruitment agencies working with us in relation to your recruitment as well as with our professional advisors, including accountants, auditors, lawyers, insurers & bankers. These service providers may change over time, but we will always use trusted service providers who we require to take appropriate security measures to protect your personal information in line with our policies. We may also share aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

If your application for employment is unsuccessful (or you withdraw from the process or decline our offer), we will retain your information for a reasonable period of time beyond the end of the application process for the purposes described above, including complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes & as necessary for our legitimate interests, such as to consider you for other current & future employment opportunities at Glossier. After this period, we will securely destroy your personal information in accordance with applicable laws & regulations.
