Away is a global lifestyle brand with a mission to transform travel through products & content that inspire people to get away more. In support of our mission, we are seeking a Vice President of Ecommerce to join our Commercial team. 

Want to help us transform the travel experience? The ideal candidate will have had deep experience in site merchandising & operations & driving transformational business growth through Ecommerce.  You will report to the Chief Commercial Officer based in our New York City office.

What youll do:

  • Lead our talented Ecommerce team & help define the ecommerce vision & business strategies, while encouraging & driving an omni-channel mindset.
  • Build annual & quarterly e-commerce strategies that drive revenue goals & business growth while delivering exceptional brand & customer experience.
  • Drive visibility to performance & actionable insights through relevant reporting & analyses to share learnings, gaps & opportunities to optimize sales & drive the business further. This includes ecommerce campaigns, site merchandising strategies & enhancements for all & specific storefronts as required.
  • Collaborate with growth marketing on acquisition & retention strategies, including customer segmentation & targeting tactics to drive first-time & repeat purchases across digital channels.
  • Manage & optimize budget/spend & ROI for ecommerce campaigns & site experience.  Drive & align ecommerce calendar & initiatives with growth marketing, brand, social, retail & international channels.
  • Partner with Digital team (digital product management, UX & Eng) to help build the roadmap delivering best-in-class omni channel capabilities online to drive growthKeep abreast of industry trends, competitor movements & changes in customer shopping behavior to maintain relevant & determine opportunities for differentiation.
  • Lead a growing team, motivating & coaching the team to deliver high-quality results & think creatively in ecommerce strategy & execution

Who you are:

  • 12 years of experience in eCommerce 
  • 8 years of experience in leadership
  • Proven track record in running a successful ecommerce business with year over year growth in a highly competitive industry
  • Keen business acumen with the ability to function as a senior strategist with peers & members of the executive team.  Influence across the organization.
  • Proven leadership & team management skills from building & managing a high-performing team
  • Expertise in ecommerce platforms, content management systems & site analytic tools
  • Advanced online ecommerce & customer behavior analytics & user research understanding  
  • Exceptional written & verbal communication skills. 
  • A proactive, resourceful, self-starter who is detail-oriented, analytical, multi-tasking & problem solver, who isnt afraid to get their hands dirty in the details
  • Strong online, ecommerce platform & mobile experience. Deep understanding of the eCommerce ecosystem - both technical & business aspects
  • Team player with a "no task is too small" attitude
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced & ever-changing environment
  • Passionate about transforming travel (but thats a given!)
