Lyft is hiring an outstanding Counsel to join our expanding Legal team dedicated to the Bikes & Scooters business. You will partner with & provide legal guidance to departments such as Supply Chain, Government Relations, Operations, Product, Marketing, Brand & Business Development on initiatives that influence all aspects of the business. The legal issues youll encounter are cutting edge & always evolving so it will be up to you to continuously assess & advise using a creative & pragmatic approach.


  • Provide strategic legal advice to a high growth unit
  • Draft & negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including supply & manufacturing, design, consulting, logistics & services agreements
  • Support the business strategy & government relations teams in drafting & negotiating public-private partnership agreements for operation of Lyft's micromobility offerings
  • Review & advise on promotional & marketing communications
  • Work closely with business teams to ensure agreements support the teams business objectives & improve & create new form agreements & processes that help us scale with a consistent but locally relevant approach


  • Qualified attorney & Member of the California Bar (in good standing) or eligible to register as California Registered In-House Counsel
  • 5+ years of experience working in a law firm and/or in-house legal department
  • Passionate about improving urban mobility & transportation
  • Experience working in retail & operations-heavy business a plus
  • Experience with state & local regulations or or micromobility business models & laws a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, judgment, communication (written & verbal) & interpersonal skills
  • Strong track record of working with a wide range of commercial agreements, without significant supervision
  • Ability to think quickly on your feet, convey grace under pressure, & simultaneously manage workloads, multiple client demands & shifting priorities
  • Ability to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive attitude to the workplace
  • Willing & eager to take on new areas of law or responsibility where no matter is above or beneath you
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, rapidly-evolving workplace with a commitment to getting things done
