Data plays an integral role at Harrys, for example in messaging customers, optimizing acquisition channels, or forecasting demand. The infrastructure & applications that you'll build on the Data Engineering team will power decisions, become multipliers on our revenue & traffic, & help us work more efficiently.

About the Role

As a Staff Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building & maintaining resilient & scalable data pipelines to support a variety of business stakeholders. You will participate in implementing the architectural components of our data platform, & you will build applications that measure & log all aspects of platform performance & data quality. You will report to the Senior Manager of Data Engineering.

What youll do:

  • Build data pipelines & 3rd party data integrations.
  • Partner with data analysts & business users to measure KPIs & support modeling
  • Design, implement & take ownership of tools for measuring & alerting on platform. performance & data quality as we scale our infrastructure.
  • Own & execute on stakeholder-facing projects.

Who you are:

  • You have a Bachelors in computer science, software engineering or similar (or equivalent non-traditional training) & 5+ years of software engineering work experience, with experience in the fields of ETL and/or data analysis, OR you have a Masters in computer science, software engineering or similar (or equivalent non-traditional training) & 3+ years of software engineering work experience, with experience in the fields of ETL and/or data analysis.
  • Fluency with SQL & Python and/or Scala.
  • Experience with distributed systems (Spark, Hive, Redshift, etc.)
  • Experience with statistics & analytics.

Nice to have experience with:

  • AWS
  • DBT
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • Working with BI tools, as user or backend (e.g Tableau, Looker)
