CLEARs Hardware Integrations team is responsible for building & maintaining an edge software platform to support CLEARs member-facing biometric experiences. We ensure CLEAR is always using the latest & greatest hardware platforms & are always looking for new innovative ideas to make our member experience better.
We are seeking a strategically-minded, technology-focused & customer-centric software development leader. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading the team in the design, development, testing, & deployment of our platform. A successful candidate will have strong, well-established software development, communication, & project management skills, & be motivated to achieve results in a fast paced environment.
What You Will Do:
- Hire, coach, & mentor individual contributors
- Lead team meetings such as standup, grooming & planning sessions
- Create, prioritize, communicate, manage, & execute roadmaps, project plans, & commitments
- Drive communication on status of development, quality, operations, & system performance to management
- Work with a talented team of engineers & product partners to deliver new features & improvements to our core kiosk services
- Foster culture of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, feedback, & metrics
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, & can articulate risks & benefits to other less experienced members of the team
- Own all operational metrics & support
- Set clear, measurable quality goals for an organization that are grounded in data
- Lead the team that owns & maintains front-end (camera, lighting, etc) system engineering specifications including design, development, integration, testing & support of software/hardware development kits throughout a product life cycle
- Gain knowledge & experience working on regulated products
- Guide architectural choices & drive teams data-driven decision-making
- Maintain a competitive landscape portfolio of various camera & biometric module & subsystem partner technologies
Who You Are:
- 5+ years of experience in understanding of all aspects of software engineering, including coding, maintenance, architecture & design
- 2+ years of experience leading & managing cross-functional teams to deliver products & projects on tight deadlines
- Understand object-oriented design fundamentals & knowledge of relevant modern design patterns
- A successful history of delivering software on-time & managing tech debt
- Experience with Agile methodologies is required
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Deep knowledge of one or more programming languages & their supporting frameworks, design patterns & best practices
- Able to build, manage, & work with multiple teams to achieve defined goals
- Curious about technology & believe in constant learning
- Up-to-date with technology trends
