The Poker Analyst is an advocate for poker & primarily responsible for the configuration of scheduled tournaments, ring games, Sit & Go, etc. across PokerStars USA platforms. They communicate with both internal & external customers as necessary & contribute to team decisions made regarding tournament offerings, features, & policies.


Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Script & deploy poker games, appropriately configuring attributes such as payouts, betting structures, etc.
  • Server internal customers in CRM, Marketing, Live Events, & others by advising on tournament attributes, ensuring compliance with team & company policies, & creating requested games accurately & on time
  • Offer input to management on the day-to-day poker operations & policy decisions for PokerStars, including tournament offerings & software client features
  • Actively communicate with other team members to ensure that all tournaments are created consistent with principles & standards of the Poker Operations department
  • Recommend changes to the poker offering to optimize it to specific USA needs based on liquidity & player preferences
  • Provide timely reports regarding performance to management as required
  • Closely review & recommend changes to tournament guarantees based on participation
  • Handle escalations from Customer Support for a variety of poker & software/technical issues
  • Research & submit technically proficient bug reports when a problem with the gaming software or back office tools is discovered


What were looking for in our next teammate

  • 2+ years of experience in an analytics role preferred
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent, or commensurate online gaming industry experience
  • Exhaustive knowledge of poker, including all game & betting variations, industry trends, familiarity with poker public figures, & understanding of the basics of game theory
  • In-depth knowledge of the PokerStars client, including features & promotions
  • Significant experience playing online poker
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas & arguments clearly & efficiently in writing
  • Willingness to work long & often unusual hours
  • Intermediate or better Microsoft Word & Excel skills
