1 Big Thing: Axios is a growth-stage startup dedicated to providing trustworthy content in an audience-first format. This year, we celebrated a major milestone, launching a SaaS product for corporate communications called Axios HQ. We are looking for a proven & innovative sales leader who can lead our growing team of Account Executives. Read more about Axios HQ in the Wall Street Journal.

Why it Matters: This leader will play a critical role in supporting our sales team as they scale Axios HQs revenue across the products first full year in the market. This role will report to & partner closely with our VP of Sales to create & implement processes & systems to maximize our sales teams performance & will provide coaching & support to the team as they pace toward their individual revenue goals.

The details: Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Provide support, coaching, & training to a highly talented team of sales professionals
  • Lead hiring efforts for new sales team members & successful onboard new hires
  • Support sales meetings & calls to increase & drive revenue performance across the team 
  • Track data & spot trends to keep team on track toward revenue pacing goals 
  • Manage the tools & processes to support revenue planning & forecasting
  • Report on results to identify strengths & opportunities
  • Proactively problem-solve to help our team find success

  • Exceptional emotional intelligence with a proven track record of coaching & developing high-performing sales talent 
  • Comfort with joining sales meetings & calls & being client-facing in a support capacity 
  • Experience with: establishing processes related to performance analysis (KPIs); revenue forecasting & budgeting; strategy & planning; sales enablement 
  • Approaches all of the above with a data-driven mindset 
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
