System Administrator

You are a highly motivated self-starter & a change agent, experienced & committed to helping our 25k+ small business clients to be even more successful by helping us design their cloud architecture while exploring, evaluating, recommending, & applying new & emerging technologies.  

You will be asked to lead the designing, implementing, guiding, & maintenance of a new architecture that will transform our organization by taking advantage of Cloud & DevOps latest best practices methodologies. However, it will include some migrations from a legacy architecture that will add some excitement to the job.

Responsibilities

  • Design, enable, deliver & maintain a scalable & automated strategy for our products
  • Design & enable DevOps solutions for development & deployment
  • Design, run & maintain different product environments (Development, Stage, Production)
  • Monitor & maintain general platform health & system integrity
  • Proactively look for & identify pain points & propose & implement solutions
  • Coordinating with other Team members to plan capacity & scaling needs
  • Design & execute strategy for current SQL DB storage & backups
  • Recommend the best approach & collaborate in the migration of legacy architecture to the Cloud
  • Strong concern for security 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven experience with Cloud technologies & DevOps 
  • 7-10 years of experience working in a LAMP & Ubuntu Linux environment
  • Ubuntu server management required
  • Bachelor or above in Computer Science or Information technology or equivalent combination of education & proven experience
  • AWS SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect Associate certification or equivalent 
  • MYSQL server configuration experience including, master/slave replication 
  • Puppet - manifests, & templates, configuration management
  • CI/CD
  • Shell Scripting
  • Knowledge of awk, sed, PHP, & Perl scripting languages is required
  • Extensive knowledge of reading & writing BASH shell scripts is required for automation, server management & other processes to facilitate staging & production enviroments
  • Nginx load balancer configuration management with custom certbot/letsencrypt integration for tens of thousands of domains
  • Dyn DNS API management for custom letsencrypt integration
  • Apache/PHP configuration & management
  • Knowledge of Varnish Configuration Language for managing varnish servers
  • NFS client & server configuration & management
  • Redis caching configuration & management
  • KVM & Docker configuration & management
  • Laravel configuration management
  • Nagios configuration for server monitoring
  • Cacti/Kibana/Graphana/Elastic search setup & configuration & integration with frontend server logs
  • Heartbeat high availability services configuration & management
  • DRBD for redudant network storage
  • SMTP - Postfix configuration & management for outgoing emails from servers
  • DNS - BIND, DNSMASQ for internal DNS
  • Rsync/BackupPC/MySQL backup & restore
  • Node.js server configuration & management
  • Gitlab repository management including knowledge of command line git
  • Ability to troubleshoot & debug using Linux command line tools including but not limited to ping, dig, curl, tcpdump, strace
  • Writing procedural documentation; & capable of drawing basic flowcharts and/or network diagrams.
  • Wordpress, Chiliproject/Redmine, Confluence
