Medium has launched a series of subscription-based publications that exist to serve readers, not advertisers - & we are seeking a creative, results-driven audience development editor to grow Elemental's audience & help our best health & wellness stories reach as many readers as possible.
The audience development editor for Elemental will be responsible for identifying & building new, large, sustainable audiences for Elemental various distribution channels, including social platforms, aggregators like Flipboard & Pocket, & other creative channels we have yet to explore.
This person must be able to work cross-functionally, be a platform whiz, & be data-informed as well as intuitive. She, he or they must have an understanding of social analytics & best practices, & must also be excited about developing new ways to tell stories on these platforms.
In addition to ongoing traffic-driving initiatives, you will conceive & execute campaigns to build long-term, loyal relationships with Elemental readers. This could include distribution & syndication partnerships, presence on aggregator platforms, new extensions for Elemental content (video, audio), & more.
We're looking for an exceptional communicator who is excited about innovations & trends in the health space, & can distill these stories into compelling, thoughtful content across platforms. They should have deep expertise in media, preferably having worked with a health or science publisher.
