Working closely with the global marketing team, you will be responsible for ideating, creating, & coordinating content across digital (e.g. social, website, articles, email), print (e.g. sales collateral) & on-site signage, ensuring consistency & efficacy in the CIC voice around the world.

CIC is a global leader in building & operating innovation communities. Founded in 1999 in Cambridge, MA, CIC is one of the first companies to offer flexible office space & coworking options, providing a platform for the world's most impactful entrepreneurs to innovate better & faster.

We have locations in Boston, Cambridge, Miami, Philadelphia, Providence, Rotterdam, St. Louis, Warsaw, & Tokyo & are growing into other cities, within the US & abroad. CIC co-founded a number of mission-aligned organizations including Venture Caf, CIC's primary non-profit programming partner, & CIC Health, offering COVID-19 testing services to companies & the public.
We invite you to explore all our openings & learn more about our teams here.

As the Senior Copywriter, you will have a strong understanding of CIC's brand voice; crafting compelling, clear, & consistent copy for various audiences & channels. Leveraging your knowledge of various channels, you will identify new opportunities to drive credibility, expand brand reputation, & inspire loyal followers.

Responsibilities will include:
• Together with the Director of PR & Communications, contribute to & maintain the evolution & articulation of CICs brand voice & identity
• In collaboration with the global marketing team, act as in-house copywriter, writing & editing copy for a variety of projects, including traditional & digital advertising, promotional material/brochures, websites, blogs, & social media
• Write clear, concise & grammatically correct copy that is error-free & is inline with relevant channel best practices
• Write engaging copy that connects with target audiences & drives desired action
• Seek & address feedback, extrapolating the meaning & applying it in a way that strengthens the work
• Meet assigned deadlines and, if necessary, communicate proactively to shift deadlines
• Understand & apply SEO best practices for content development (categorization, structure & distribution)
• Contribute to public relations & sales materials, such as press releases, fact sheets, talking points, expansion proposals, & awards submissions.

Our ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, proofreader, & editor who can hit the ground running in an established & growing company with a start-up feel. If you are a strong communicator with a passion for grammar, a penchant for creative thinking, superior attention to detail, & a desire to work for a mission-driven company, you may be the one we're looking for. (Yes, we know that's a dangling preposition, & we're OK with it.)

Let's get to the heart of you as a writer & worker.

• Are others always asking you, What's another way to say …?” or How do I make this sound more professional or conversational or exciting?”
• Are you known at work as The Juggler” for your ability to manage competing demands with aplomb & prioritize projects & tasks accordingly?
• Do you love using words like aplomb” but also know when to use confidence” or ease” instead?
• Are you right- & left-brained - that rare blend of creator, master organizer, & strategist?
• Would others describe you as a grammar geek who adores the Oxford comma & brags about knowing all things punctuation, spelling, & syntax?
• Can you hear new concepts, assimilate them, & write about them as if you've known them your whole life?
• If you worked in TV or film, would you be a script supervisor because of your devotion to continuity?
• Can you read the room & instinctively know whether it's time for a monologue or a haiku?
• Do you delight in collaborating with others but also relish your work-alone time?

• At least 3-4 years of professional experience in writing & marketing; PR experience a plus.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Squarespace, & Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, etc.).
• Ideally, experience in hospitality, retail, real estate, and/or start-up-to-growth organizations.
• Experience working with agencies (digital, media, production, PR).
• Submission of three professional writing samples required.

As of August 2021, a condition of employment for all new CIC employees in Massachusetts is full COVID-19 vaccination. More details will be shared during the interview process & we can answer questions at that point if you have any.

If you don't meet all the requirements or qualifications but bring some other unique skills & experience that would be valuable in this role, please apply & highlight those attributes for us in your cover letter.

• Starting compensation is commensurate with experience.
• 100% company paid premium healthcare & dental benefits.
• 100% company paid long & short-term disability, & life insurance.
• 401k (must be 21+).
• Three weeks of vacation (more with seniority) plus thirteen holidays from the start.

In addition to helping our clients achieve great things, we work to ensure that our employees are healthy & supported. Some of the benefits of being here include:

• Fun people in adynamic space. We pride ourselves on finding driven & bright collaborators who are eager to lend their own unique skills to the team, as well as to our inspiring clientele. The number one reason CICers say they like working here is because of their colleagues!
• Personal growth. This is a great opportunity to learn & develop skills within the epicenter of the innovation community at a growing company.
• Access to a nursing room, secure bicycle parking, a maker space, a gym, shower rooms with towels, & discounted services & memberships on tools to make your life happier/healthier such as gym memberships, tech & design support, hotel stays, & other fantastic options.
• Central location. CIC Cambridge is a stone's throw from the Kendall Square MBTA Red Line stop. CIC Boston is centrally located in downtown Boston & is within walking distance to the Blue, Green, Orange, & Red line.

CIC is committed to building teams that reflect the fabric of the cities we support. We welcome all candidates regardless of race, color, ancestry, gender identity or expression, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, Veteran status, or any other legally protected status. Any other human expressions & experiences not mentioned here are equally welcome. If you require an accommodation please let us know. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
