ABOUT YOU
Our ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, proofreader, & editor who can hit the ground running in an established & growing company with a start-up feel. If you are a strong communicator with a passion for grammar, a penchant for creative thinking, superior attention to detail, & a desire to work for a mission-driven company, you may be the one we're looking for. (Yes, we know that's a dangling preposition, & we're OK with it.)

Let's get to the heart of you as a writer & worker.

• Are others always asking you, What's another way to say …?” or How do I make this sound more professional or conversational or exciting?”
• Are you known at work as The Juggler” for your ability to manage competing demands with aplomb & prioritize projects & tasks accordingly?
• Do you love using words like aplomb” but also know when to use confidence” or ease” instead?
• Are you right- & left-brained - that rare blend of creator, master organizer, & strategist?
• Would others describe you as a grammar geek who adores the Oxford comma & brags about knowing all things punctuation, spelling, & syntax?
• Can you hear new concepts, assimilate them, & write about them as if you've known them your whole life?
• If you worked in TV or film, would you be a script supervisor because of your devotion to continuity?
• Can you read the room & instinctively know whether it's time for a monologue or a haiku?
• Do you delight in collaborating with others but also relish your work-alone time?

YOU HAVE
• At least 3-4 years of professional experience in writing & marketing; PR experience a plus.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Squarespace, & Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, etc.).
• Ideally, experience in hospitality, retail, real estate, and/or start-up-to-growth organizations.
• Experience working with agencies (digital, media, production, PR).
• Submission of three professional writing samples required.

As of August 2021, a condition of employment for all new CIC employees in Massachusetts is full COVID-19 vaccination. More details will be shared during the interview process & we can answer questions at that point if you have any.

If you don't meet all the requirements or qualifications but bring some other unique skills & experience that would be valuable in this role, please apply & highlight those attributes for us in your cover letter.

OUR OFFER
• Starting compensation is commensurate with experience.
• 100% company paid premium healthcare & dental benefits.
• 100% company paid long & short-term disability, & life insurance.
• 401k (must be 21+).
• Three weeks of vacation (more with seniority) plus thirteen holidays from the start.
