Director of Brand Management, Base Business

Flamingo is on a mission to better support individual body care needs & routines, starting with body hair. We are looking for a consumer-centric & commercially-minded leader to help build out & oversee our brand business (both body hair removal & care). We have big ambitions for Flamingo & this role is at the forefront of continuing our journey to make Flamingo the #1 omni-channel challenger brand in body hair & expand into body care.

This role will spearhead the overall brand strategy & marketing operations. You will be responsible for building the strategy & leading overall purchase funnel brand plans, setting goals & delivering business growth (top & bottom line), manage the Flamingo brand budget & collaborate with the GM on P&L management & demand & supply plans. Additionally, you will manage overall brand activation strategy to drive ROI & build & execute against our national brand calendar, new product launch plans, 360 brand campaigns & commercial innovations (Limited-Time Offers, Packaging, Pack sizes or pack optimization).

The Director of Brand Management, Base Business will lead a team to support these ambitions & be a core part of the Flamingo senior leadership team to help build the team culture, develop capabilities, improve processes, & create great relationships across the organization.  

What you will accomplish:

  • Analyze the business & recommend strategies to drive strong performance across the brand purchase funnel
  • Set goals & KPIs for initiatives & responsible for managing overall business performance (Gross Rev & EBITDA targets & Share & NPS targets)
  • Manage a fast-growing, active base business across hair removal & body moisture, & partner with the Flamingo Innovation, Brand Communications, Creative & DTC teams, plus cross-functional partners to deliver our P&L & key brand KPIs (Gross Rev & EBITDA targets & share & NPS targets).
  • Build & manage omni-channel brand calendar, inclusive of product launches & 360 campaigns
  • Set strategy for & manage execution of tentpole moments for Flamingo (coordinating across & briefing Retail Marketing, Brand Comms, DTC + Creative)
  • Serve as Flamingo brand lead & project manager across Personal Care activities & internal Flamingo team operational processes, including priority-setting, budget, brand planning, optimal meeting structure & cadence, & ad hoc activities. 
  • Oversee Flamingo budget performance & process, & collaborate with Finance & the GM to monitor the brand P&L.
  • Oversee brand engagement in the S&OP process.
  • Serve as an integral member of the Flamingo leadership team, partnering with the GM & other directors to help build the team culture & engagement, develop internal capabilities, & advocate for the Flamingo brand. 
  • Manage small but mighty Base Business team.

The ideal candidate is: 

  • An experienced brand & business leader with a proven track record of commercial ownership, managing a fast-paced business & delivering against tentpole moments that meet KPIs
    • 8+ years of brand management experience (brand strategy, innovation, insight, commercial planning)
    • Experience driving full purchase funnel brand plans
    • Experience driving a P&L / bringing to life new commercial opportunities
    • Experience building / leading high performing teams & managing through influence cross-functionally
    • Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, brand-forward business
    • Omni-channel experience is a plus
  • Highly collaborative: A true team player, can work closely cross-functionally at all levels, no ego, & highly empathetic
  • Process-oriented: Understands the power of developing processes (where necessary) to more efficiently tackle work.
  • Ownership mentality: Feels real pride of ownership & responsibility in what they take on. Takes a holistic & strategic approach to what they do.
  • Clear communicator & solutions-oriented: Able to clearly & succinctly declare a perspective, gather input & make decisions. Able to clearly think through programs & find solutions.
  • A great manager & leader: Can manage a small team & get others excited & motivated everyday.
  • And most importantly you take your work seriously but you dont take yourself too seriously.
