JOB DETAILS

The Fund:
Creator Fund is a venture capital firm that invests in university-based startups. Our belief is that with many of the world's leading academic institutions, Europe's universities are the best place to find the next generation of great technology companies. In the United States, giants including Yahoo, Facebook, Snapchat, DoorDash, & Stitch Fix were all started by student founders. Creator Fund is based on the successful Silicon Valley Dorm Room Fund model, which has been a driving force for student entrepreneurship in America. The Fund makes pre-seed & seed investments & provides considerable strategic support to help student-led companies grow. We use a unique student-led model, training a team of Student Investors across 23 universities to find deals first on their campus. Creator Fund is backed by company builder Founders Factory, & we have secured funding from Schmidt Futures (the venture initiative by Eric & Wendy Schmidt to support technology which is a force for good). To date Creator Fund has invested in five companies. And its work has been widely covered in Telegraph, Financial Times x2, Sifted, & Tech Crunch.

The Role:

This is a significant opportunity to build & shape a fast-growing Venture Capital firm. Over the course of the next year, Creator Fund will invest in ~10 deals in the UK & expand into multiple European geographies, & you will have responsibility in both of these areas. This is our second full time hire at Creator Fund, & we want to bring someone on board who can quickly step up to lead major initiatives. It is a hybrid investing & operating role: you will be responsible for helping run our UK student team, executing new deals, working with our portfolio companies, & supporting international expansion.
