We're looking for someone who will join our team in our Prague office

At Similarweb, were tackling big data challenges at scale, handling over 51 petabytes & millions of events per second. As a DevOps Team Lead, youll both manage & mentor our DevOps team & actively contribute to building developer platforms & tools used by 350+ engineers. This role is a unique blend of leadership & hands-on engineering as youll work really close with the development teams towards accomplishing companies goals.

Tech stack youll be working with:

AWS, K8S (EKS), Karpenter Autoscaler, ArgoCD , Terraform at Scale (more than 3000 states)  , KEDA Autoscaler, Databricks, Airflow & Datadog

So, what will you be doing all day?

• Build & lead a new team, providing technical mentoring, supporting personal growth, & driving execution. 
• Lead the design of complex applications within a Big Data environment, tackling challenging server-side issues.
• Collaborate with application software engineering teams to design & implement scalable, reliable, & secure systems.
• Develop & maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate deployment & scaling of services.
• Implement & manage monitoring, alerting, & logging solutions to ensure proactive identification of issues.
• Automate repetitive tasks & manual processes to improve operational efficiency & reliability.
• Troubleshoot & mitigate production incidents as part of an on-call rotation alongside engineers from within all other R&D groups 

This is a great opportunity for someone who has:

• Leadership experience: 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams
• 2+ years of experience developing server-side applications & tooling using Python/Java/Node.js/Go.
• Experience running a large-scale operation on Amazon Web Services/Google Cloud Engine.
• Good knowledge of Web Servers, Load Balancers, Caching Systems, databases, networking, etc.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).

Its a plus if you also have:

• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform & Pulumi
• Experience with Docker & container orchestration solutions such as Nomad & Kubernetes
• Understanding of security best practices & experience with security incident response.
