As an Assistant Merchandiser at Stitch Fix UK, you will be responsible for assisting the Merchandising team in growing the total apparel & accessories business. We currently have multiple positions available across both our Branded & Own Brand teams. Regardless of which team you join, you will assist in developing & executing inventory & assortment plans based on client feedback & preferences to deliver financial goals & business strategies. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starting, sharply analytical problem solver with proven merchandising acumen & the ability to learn new ways of working. 

You will report to one of our talented Merchandisers & have exposure to our Director of Buying & Merchandising, as well as other senior level members of our team. These opportunities will be based out of our UK headquarters in London.


  • Generate & maintain weekly merchandising dashboard of key business performance metrics & highlight key findings to the team
  • Work directly with merchandiser(s) on building new reports & merchandise analytics
  • Create buy plans for core styles & track sales performance to recommend inventory flow
  • Ensure appropriate coverage & inventory levels in basic & seasonal basic SKUs
  • Find opportunities to balance inventory by size
  • Assist in managing the financial plan of a class/business group
  • Analyse historical & current trends to identify risks & opportunities & partner with merchandiser to develop action plans to achieve department goals
  • Recap in-season actualised sales & inventory KPIs to plan & forecast
  • Participate in development of pre-season strategy with merchandiser & buying team
  • Present in trade & sign-off meetings
  • Partner with the Buying team to manage liabilities with clearance & markdown strategy & execution
  • Partner with brands & suppliers to ensure delivery compliance
  • Have ongoing cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Marketing, Styling, Analytics, Engineering & Finance teams
  • Support the Buying team with analysis & insight in order to execute vendor strategies


  • You have a university degree with 2+ years of work experience in Merchandising & some previous experience at Assistant Merchandiser level
  • You are systems-savvy, especially proficient with Microsoft Office, & comfortable using Excel to manipulate large data sets
  • You are eager to work for a growing, innovative retailer & appreciate an all hands on deck working environment
  • You have demonstrated an ability to solve problems using creative & analytical thinking & a solutions-oriented approach
  • You are extremely detail oriented, organised & love to establish/improve processes
  • You possess excellent communication skills & are comfortable working with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds, including vendors, brands & other external groups
  • You are able to manage your time & prioritise so you can handle a wide range of tasks & assignments in a deadline-oriented environment
  • You are flexible & maintain a can-do attitude when unanticipated challenges or shifting priorities arise
  • You are excited about your personal & professional development, seeking out & responding to feedback that will help you grow & succeed
  • You are able to work out of our office in London (once current work from home environment ends & it is safe to return to the office)
