Editorial Operations Manager

Job description:

We are looking for an Editorial Operations Manager to take our growing lifestyle platform to the next level. Working across teams & touching every aspect of our business, the editorial operations manager will be the linchpin in bringing our content & special projects to life. If youre someone whos obsessed with editorial excellence, who excels at big picture thinking as well as having meticulous attention to detail, we want to hear from you.

The Editorial Operations Manager works closely with the Chief Content Officer & reports directly to the Managing Editor.

Daily tasks:

  • Manage the day-to-day editorial calendar, working closely with the content team to make sure all stories are scheduled correctly & published on time
  • Manage the SEO strategy, budgets, & deadlines
  • Manage freelancers, including contracts & budgets
  • Manage the chart-topping mindbodygreen podcast
  • Work closely with the classes team to manage the creation & implementation of editorial content from classes instructors
  • Manage the flow of editorial content into weekly newsletters
  • Work across teams to create process & workflow for special projects
  • Track data & article performance using our various analytics platforms

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in digital publishing, managing content teams & production
  • Proficient at project management tools like Asana, & a fast learner with new CMS programs/
  • Excellent knowledge of health, nutrition, & wellness
  • A voracious appetite for managing projects, solving problems, & working quickly across teams to accelerate progress
  • The ability to work quickly & manage content flow
  • Experience optimizing articles for search
  • A strong personal interest in & passion for health, healthy food, & wellness

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Demonstrate experience with SEO & how to optimize posts to reach SEO goals
  • Based in or interested in relocating to New York to work in our Brooklyn offices
  • A big-picture thinker whos not afraid to get in the weeds when needed
  • A self-starter, who works well without a lot of oversight & thinks about the next step before being asked
  • A collaborator who works across the company to execute the vision of a project
  • Ambitious, always looking for every opportunity to improve the caliber of the content
