What you'll do:

The Operations team at Care/of takes a very proactive approach in developing strategies & tactical plans to improve our production abilities. We are based between our office in Manhattan & our Fulfillment Center at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in NYC.

As theDirector of Operations,you will the lead fulfillment center operations executing excellence in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, inventory, & productivity. You will be responsible for building a world class team that improves our customer experience through on-time delivery & impeccable quality. Reporting to our Head of Fulfillment, youll partner closely with Continuous Improvement, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, Strategy, & Technology teams to scale fulfillment operations, optimize product operation & logistic processes, integrate new product launches, & implement change management across a dynamically growing business.

  • Manage, coach & mentor the operations team tasked with a mission to achieve 100% quality on-time, every time with our customers
  • Implement processes & structure that drive repeatable, predictable KPI outcomes for the operation
  • Build a culture of Built in Quality that leads to team ownership & accountability of GMP requirements
  • Identify & implement opportunities to improve operational performance & efficiencies in the areas of quality, root cause corrective action (RCCA), inventory management, productivity, financial discipline, planning, & staffing
  • Be a leader in the operations team & define the operational strategy & roadmap for the organization

Who you are:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or relevant field, preferably with a quantitative focus
  • Backed by 10+ years of experience in a highly operational role
  • Honed leadership skills of 7+ years developing successful teams
  • P+L oversight of a $50M+ business unit & 150+ hourly/salary organization
  • Savvy with Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory management from Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to logistics, managing kanban to creating a lean pull system
  • Seasoned professional integrating new product launches with existing product lines
  • Highly proficient in analyzing trends & root causing issues
  • Armed with a demonstrated track record of translating business goals into actions & measuring the impact
  • Direct experience implementing change management through Lean & Six Sigma tools via Toyota Production System (TPS) or similar model with measurable ROI
  • Experienced leading cross-functional initiatives & managing large projects with internal & external partners, including new technology/software projects
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity & communicate successfully across all levels of the organization, from the fulfillment associates to the executive team
  • Willing to roll-up your sleeves to take on the nitty-gritty execution tasks that come with an early-stage start-up
