Senior Program Manager

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver program(s) that span across one or more business units. Manage resources, schedules & communications.  This also includes management of issues, risks & project change requests to ensure successful & on-time delivery. Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.

The Senior Program Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis. Verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time & to achieve the potential benefits defined in the PRD.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple product lines
  • Provide on-site leadership for project team by building & motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities & project milestones
  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously
  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to & directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test & deployment management activities
  • Work creatively & analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation & excellence
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools & partnerships to expand & mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Prepare detailed project plan for all phases of the project
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities & resources & chair the project management team meetings
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks & issues, communicating across leadership
  • Understand interdependencies between product/engineering & business needs
  • Manage project scope & changes
  • Manage ongoing quality control & participate in quality issue resolution
  • Develop & manage all aspects of project & program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, change, risks & issues
  • Set & continually manage project & program expectations while delegating & managing deliverable with team members
  • Delegate tasks & responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Monitor, track & control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies & critical path deliverables
  • Develop & deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation & presentations to various audiences, including project team & key stakeholders
  • Determine the frequency & content of status reports from the project & program team, analyze results & troubleshoot problem areas
  • Define success criteria & disseminate them to involved parties throughout project & program life cycle
  • Extensive understanding of project & program management principles, methods & techniques
  • Establish practices, templates, policies, tools & partnerships to expand & mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Excellent experience in Agile, SCRUM, SDLC / Waterfall
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic & motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across & down multiple business & technology organizations
  • Proven ability to work creatively & analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation & excellence
  • Build & maintain relationships by engaging product & engineering leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus & achieve objectives
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal & presentation) & interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change & competing demands
  • Research best practices within & outside the organization to establish benchmark data & use continuous process improvement disciplines to achieve results
  • Experience in successfully leading projects & programs on-time & on-schedule
  • Experience leading, motivating & managing various project & program team sizes, including internal & external resources, while holding team accountable for performance
  • Strong experience presenting to executives & demonstrated communication skills; both written & oral with technical & non-technical staff, all levels of management
  • Experience influencing & gaining buy-in from executives, team members & peers
  • Team-building skills with technical & non-technical staff
  • Experience working both independently & in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands & timelines through analytical & problem-solving capabilities
  • Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to Google Suite, Jira, Salesforce, Monday, Slack & LucidChart
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues & products
  • Must be able to learn, understand & apply new technologies
  • Support diverse & inclusive work environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience, including tracking & planning projects
  • 5+ years of experience working with stakeholders within a cross-functional environment
  • 3+ years of experience with full product lifecycle with understanding of development lifecycle & various SDLC methodologies that support that lifecycle
  • Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment & collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common objectives
  • Interpersonal skills to influence & spur change, facilitate & enhance performance within a cross - functional environment
  • Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving problems, making decisions & identifying priorities
