Zola is looking for a strong candidate to join the Accounting team as an Accounting Manager. This role will report into the Senior Director of Financial Reporting & will work very closely with Controller. Ideal for someone who has previous experience working at or auditing e-commerce/retail companies.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Manage the monthly close process including preparation/review of journal entries, account reconciliations, & variance analyses
• Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
• Review/Preparation of key accounting areas including cash, prepaids, fixed assets, AP/AR, inventory, accruals, deferred revenue, etc
• Manage at least one direct report
• Prepare & provide support in conjunction with external audit
• Assist with monthly & annual financial statement preparation
• Partner with FP&A team on quarterly BvA process
• Partner with other functions within the organization (Merch, Ops, etc) to drive improvements
• Proactively identify & drive improvements on close processes, data integrity & accounting systems
• Improve control environment by identifying & implementing controls (review controls, user access, etc)
• Document policies, procedures & workflow for assigned areas of responsibility 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Active CPA with 5+ years experience in accounting, financial & analytical roles
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Good knowledge of US GAAP; conceptual & practical experience in researching, understanding & communicating technical accounting issues & conclusions
• Strong independent work ethic & project management skills, attention to detail, accuracy & be able to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Highly analytical & ability to handle large amount of data
• E-commerce or retail experience (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Technical proficiency with one or more corporate financial/enterprise software packages. Hands-on experience with Intacct & Looker is a plus.
