The opportunity
The Privacy & Security team at Mozilla is a vanguard for protecting people on the internet. We embody the Mozilla manifesto principle that individuals security & privacy are fundamental & must not be treated as optional.
One year after the launch of our flagship product, the Mozilla VPN, the Privacy & Security product team is hard at work building new products to add to our portfolio. Since our products can be used by anyone with internet access, every member of our team has the ability to provide valuable tools to protect users data & contribute to a safer internet

What youll do

Contribute to the design, functionality, & features of products that people protect themselves online

Craft clear & detailed research plans, be responsible for the execution of the plan including participant recruitment, creating research materials, conducting fieldwork, collecting & analyzing data, & presenting the findings

Facilitate a user-centered design & product development process that advocates for users needs & perspectives.
What you bring

A passion for research & deep empathy toward people

A strong understanding of the strengths & shortcomings of different research methods, including when & how to apply them

Experience with modern methodologies including user testing, cognitive walkthroughs, user interviews, remote testing, field studies, & surveys

An innovative & experimental approach, connecting insights to design, brand, technical requirements, & product strategy
Minimum qualifications
-
Advanced degree, or equivalent experience, in design, human computer interaction, cognitive science, experimental psychology, anthropology, information science, or related field.

1 - 3 years of professional experience in a user research setting.
You may travel ~25% time (5-6 days per month) for research studies & team & company meetings. We support flexible work hours, paid professional development, & have a wellness program that includes child-care assistance.
